This set was easy for my child, they're below the "recommended age" and had no problems following the directions and assembling themselves. This set was sturdy from the base up. The character dolphins and chariot were a little less sturdy but that was expected. For my family, it didn't really capture The Little Mermaid theme for us, assuming it was from the original animated movie. With the release of Little Mermaid she's been obsessed with mermaids and we were able to get this on sale during the last prime sale. It has great detail and the quality of lego products is always phenomenal. Perfect if you use want to build something easy in a few hours. Wish they had an adult version. Contains Ariel, Sébastien, Flounder, and king Tritan. They are not the mini small figurines but not the normal size either. No complaints though. Easy build.
