I purchased the LEGO City Yellow Delivery Truck for my five-year-old son. I wanted an engaging project that would be robust enough for actual playtime once fully assembled. The Good: Great Quality: The overall build is great and almost all the decorations on the truck are printed pieces instead of stickers, which hold up much better to daily play. Hours of Engagement: Putting this together kept him busy for quite a while :) . Between the main rig, the functioning forklift, and the side builds, there are plenty of distinct sections to hold a child's focus. Developmental Benefits: Snapping the bricks together and operating the moving parts has been great for his fine motor development. The Not-So-Good: It got complicated at some points for a 5 year old, so it wasn't purely 100% no supervision time for the parents. Things to Know Before Buying: Age Recommendation: The box officially recommends this for ages 8+, but it is highly enjoyable and totally manageable for a 5-year-old with just a little bit of guided supervision. Bought on Black Friday for a great price, perfect Christmas gift. On the harder side for my 6yo but he could still manage to do it on his own (he is an avid LEGO builder). Easy direction and he had fun building it. LEGO is always good quality but some pieces were difficult for him to put together on his own as they had a very finicky fit together ... show more

My 9 year old son loved this Lego set. He has a lot of sets, but this one has so many cute features and surprises. The details are very thoughtful. There’s a place for the truck driver to sleep, a hot dog stand with a soda fridge, and the Lego sets which the truck is delivering are representations of actual Lego sets.
