The set has 86 pieces, so it was just the right size for him—he could build most of it on his own with a little help. The McLaren race car looks awesome, and he had so much fun racing it around once it was built. The driver minifigure is also a cool addition. My 5-year old grandson loved this. And put it together by himself. They stay together to be enjoyed and raced afterwards. Great toy and excellent for spatial reasoning and building attention span. No reading required.
