Great saxophone reed
Size: Strength 2.00
Great reeds for saxophone. I use this brand for all my saxophones Tenor, Alto, and Soprano. Needs no preparation. It is ready to play right out of the box.

I don't want to repeat what other reviewers have already covered about these sounding just like cane. I've already placed orders for other strengths ...
Size: Strength 2.00
I have tried synthetic reeds in the past, but always found them to be plasticy and buzzy, producing a kind of artificial woodwind tone. I recently read about these Legere Signature reeds and decided to give them a try. I knew there'd be an adjustment period, so I went soft at a 2.0. Long story short... I received the reed in my mailbox, unboxed, assembled on my mouthpiece (probably should have washed first, my bad), and then immediately had a go. Wow! I don't want to repeat what other reviewers have already covered about these sounding just like cane. I've already placed orders for other strengths (2.25, 2.5) to find my sweet spot. I don't think I'll be using cane again to be quite honest. In a two hour practice session this reed never dulled by becoming water-logged nor did it suffer any of those common cane issues we've all encountered. In a typical box of 5 cane reeds, you'll get about 1-2 winners. Imagine buying just one winner that will last as long as several boxes... love'in it! :) ... show more

Great sounding reed!
Size: Strength 2.00
This was my first try with a synthetic reed. The first time I played it, I was extremely pleased. Great sound. It is weird not having to keep a reed moist, but also easier. I immediately ordered a second, backup reed.

Surprising technology.
Size: Strength 2.00
I last tried a plastic reed in 1955! Very disappointing. This product is space-age technology. I was very happy with my first effort. First impression with 2.0 reed; it's a bit bright--I need to work on softening the sound,or order a heavier resistance model. Certainly the variety is more than adequate. I'm just getting started, but for now, no more cane! ... show more

Works and sounds great - best of all - a reed strength that works for me
Size: Strength 2.00
On the Vandoren Java scale I needed a 2.75. 2.5 was too soft, 3.0 is an order of magnitude harder (waaay too hard). I needed a 2.75. I am tired of adjusting reeds and chasing reed strength. I found the 2.0 strength to be a great fit (sometimes use the 2.5 for more power). Plays easily from low "Bb" up to fourth octave "F". No matter what anyone says - there is a tonal difference between synthetic and natural cane. It's most noticeable on my tenor in the middle register, barely noticeable on the Bari. However, I've decided to embrace it. I like knowing when I go to a gig - I can count on the Legere reed to play exactly the way I practiced - no surprises ... show more

Don't believe the different "cuts"; there's NO difference in sound or tone across ANY of them.
Size: Strength 2.00
having purchased American Cut, Signature Cut and French cut variations of these reeds to try with my Selmer Tenor and Alto saxes and Kessler Soprano sax, ALL using SYOS Spark mouthpieces with the Sysos Ring ligature, there is absolutely NO TONAL DIFFERENCE WHATSOEVER between the different "cuts"! Signature cut is supposed to give the brighter, edgier tone; it doesn't. French cut gives a warmer tone; it doesn't American cut is supposed to be somewhere in between and all 3 actually produce EXACTLY the same tone, with no variation whatsoever! Compare that to, for example, Vandoren, Blue, Java Red, Java Green and Vandoren ZZ reeds where there is most definitely a tonal difference across all four reed types. Even Addario saxophone reeds have a more noticeable tonal difference across their range than the Legere does! Great "practice" reeds and I'll keep them as a "standby emergency" reed for my smooth jazz gigs, but HIGHLY unlikely to become my performance reeds of choice. ... show more
