  • Great Reed & Delivered very fast
Size: Strength 2.00
I use this brand of reeds all the time for my soprano saxophone, they work really well. I was really impressed with the shipping, it was delivered in a timely manner! I will definitely buy from this seller again

  • Love these reeds!
Size: Strength 1.50
I will never play a cane reed again! These reeds sound amazing. They last longer than cane reeds too. They can be fragile so be careful but, if taken care of, I can see these reeds lasting months on end. If you are new to playing soprano and you want to try these out, I recommend starting with a 1.5 strength. A 1 strength would be too soft and the tip will close when you are playing your sax. ... show more

  • Perfect reed for me but costly
Size: Strength 2.25
I’ve solved all my reed issues except cost. These things are spendy at ~ $50 ea. But they are the most trouble free, consistently responsive reeds I’ve played with a perfect blend of edge and warmth-control. Legere American Cut are what I’ll be buying….won’t even be looking around. They can go dead fairly abruptly after 1-3 months….depending on usage. I don’t put that many hours into it so they last pretty much forever. ... show more

  • Good response.
Size: Strength 2.50
I've been looking for a good synthetic for the sax. I tried the standard cut and it was too thick and unresponsive. The American cut has more flexibility. I did get a 1/2 strength softer than I played on wooden.

  • Best reed yet
Size: Strength 1.50
I will not play cane reeds any more. $40 reed will out last more than one $40 box of reeds. No adjustment necessary. American cut reed is the only reed I will play besides fibracell. Yes they are on the bright side. Not classical. Go down a strength or 2 and you should have a long lasting in tune reed ... show more

  • Meh
Size: Strength 3.50
It was reliable and perfectly fine for doubling, but pooped out way to soon to justify the hefty price tag.

  • Hazy Outlook
Size: Strength 2.00
Have bought three of these American Cut reeds. A 1.75, a 2.0, and another 2.0 so far. I'm finding they last about 6 weeks before they are blown out and unusable. This is longer than a cane reed, but not as long as I'd expected or hoped. There is a short break-in period, maybe a few hours. But this third one I'm finding doesn't seem lively and responsive like the first two I bought. It feels kind of dead, a little stuffy, and hard to blow. It's a shame when synthetic reeds are not consistent and don't even last that long. Sort of defeats the purpose. I liked the first two American Cut reeds I tried, but this one is not so good. Now I guess I will have to try a few more to figure out of this reed is a good value or not. ... show more

  • Surprisingly good
Size: Strength 2.25
I don't play my soprano a whole lot, but it seems to work nicely. I will probably play my sax more since I got this reed. It's nice not to have to soak it and sand it and otherwise fuss with it. Now if they can just make an American cut oboe reed...
