This case has served us a great purpose. Bottles fit neatly where they are supposed to. The outside case is a smooth almost marooned-colored case. Does not appear to look like the rich, brown leather photo featured in the photo, but not a big deal, really. It's fully functional. My only problem was it was not packed properly for shipping. Don't know if it was Amazon or the vendor, but both of the cocktail glasses were smashed. That was a buzzkill.

I've always wanted something like this because I like drinking. It is definitely pretty nice, and I'm not sure there is one better available, but it's not the greatest thing man ever invented either. I guess I sort of feel like you'll always need something besides what is in this kit, and you'll always have a thing or two you don't need. Here's a breakdown: First of all, the two bottle spaces will hold almost any 750ml bottle, including squat shapes like Bulleit, and anything not ridiculously tall and thin. It will also hold a lot of 1l bottles, including a relatively squat and wide-diametered Chivas. However, I tried to put in a 1l bottle of Pitu Cachaca, and it could be done, but not without sort of scraping up the inside felt at the top. It does hold the Ikea 1l reusable bottles that have the Grolsch-style rubber stoppers attached to them. And that might be key for maximizing efficiency, especially if you stock up on cases of 1.75l bottles of gin or another favorite, and want to take as much with you as the case will hold. Two paragraphs above made me realize that this thing will likely bruise easily, including the outside. That fake leather stuff feels and looks nice, but it will turn green as it gets beat up, I think. I can see some minor traces of that color where the sides press together. And overall, this is pretty large. I mean, not super efficient, either, as I mentioned before. When I get to drive, it'll be going with me, but I'll be sticking with my bum martini set for when I fly. It would be great if my future campervan happens to have a perfect spot to hold this baby, though. So if you take a bottle of gin and a bottle of rye, you still need bitters, red vermouth, and white vermouth - see my problem? And if I just opt for martini or manhattan, then I have way too much vermouth. And I only use a tiny bit of vermouth in my martinis, but the spritzer thing still won't cut it. That may hold bitters, though... Oh yeah, and if you don't want to be a bum, you'll need olives or homemade cherries, both of which probably need refrigerated unless they're still sealed... The glasses I love. Perfect size (smaller than modern, but the correct size for a classic cocktail at around 4 oz. to the brim) martini glasses, and very classic and of good quality. One of the highlights of the set. Loads better than a paper cup or gross bathroom glass at a cheap hotel, still much better than a generic rocks glass at a nice hotel. I also like the metal skewers, but they are the typically long type that go better with larger glasses. I've had this problem before with others and I just chopped the ends off with a diagonal cutters and used a grinding wheel to re-point them. These don't have "handles" on the end, so they will not fall out of the glass as easily as the others I was referring to, though, because they are not so lopsided weight-wise. The shaker is what I know to be (if my knowledge is correct) a squat, Japanese style shaker. It was super-stuck together when I got it, and I could barely get it apart. It's always a fine line with how tight these things are made. But it is not beautiful or well weighted. Just so-so. Good size for two people, though. The strainer doesn't have the little finger-handle on the back that I am accustomed to, but it is alright. The swizzle has a fork on the far end, the jigger has markings inside both sides. Overall, the tools are good, but probably not as great as they should be for the price of the set. I wonder if anyone makes one of these in real leather and if it would have to cost much more. I'd like it to come with and hold two ~200ml bottles yet so I can take two types of vermouth instead of having to put vermouth in a crushed plastic bottle inside the shaker as I do with my "bum kit". Overall, it's really cool. Definitely a neat, high-end gift. The main imperfection about it is sort of inherent to such things (size versus the tools you really need, etc.). I do think some things should probably be better for the price, but I imagine all of these types of things - except perhaps cut-rate knockoffs - are priced at a premium.

This case is way better than I can describe in a review. The case itself is just beautiful and solidly made. It's big but whoever is fortunate to get this as a gift (of who buys it for himself/herself) will not mind. The equipment inside will cover just about any standard cocktail. I added a couple of small items that I placed into the shaker. You also have a compartment for two bottles of liquor - your choice. It's worth every penny and will be a big hit at your next party - once those are okay to go to again.

This is just a beautiful looking case. It puts picnic baskets to shame. This is just perfect for packing up and having the right ingredients on the boat in the evening. We like to have a cocktail on the lake right as the sun sets. We pull down the sails and bob around in the water for awhile, no effort, just lake water lapping on the boat and the gentle sway, watching the sun hit the horizon. It's the perfect kit for the perfect evening.

I know the purpose of this travel set is to take it with you however for me, it's perfect because of the organization! My favorite thing about this is the case it comes in, and how everything in it has a spot. I only make mixed drinks when there is company over, and it's absolute heaven to just get the case out and have everything there, and grab more martini glasses if need be. I think this would make an awesome gift!

This travel set is gorgeous. The feel of everything is nice and sturdy. The handle is comfortable to carrying. It holds all that you need to make a drink, including a mister to add that last bit of aroma to a drink. The space to carry two bottles of alcohol is padded and holds it tightly so there's no bottle clanking as you walk. This is a definite splurge but makes for a fantastic, romantic, and relaxing outing.
