Description
Explanation: The motion in the barrel of the polisher simulates the natural action of flowing water or ocean waves. Beaches and riverbeds contain rocks and pebbles smoothed by water and the abrasive sand it carries. As rocks grind upon one another with constant water or sand in the mix, they begin to round and smooth. Although this is a constant process, it does not however, naturally polish the rocks. The complete process usually takes 4-6 weeks.

Motor on purchase on May 12 burned up and seized. The older on is still going. Tryed to email and get nothing. No response . As of Aug 9 2024, started around last week of July. Instead of purchasing any I’ll just make a multi drum unit for about 6-8 drums. So I went through Amazon to complain and I found out sellers have to go through Amazon to contact buyers. *UPDATED* My purchase was in Dec 24 and I’ve run it like you would any tumbler. Changed out my barrels on 02/27 and it wouldn’t turn back on. I initially had a poor review of this company however that was misguided. I was messaged and upon confirmation of the issue, I received a replacement overnight. The little black knob you use to tighten the lid on rubs against something and puts off an exceptionally load squeaking sound. I eventually had to stop using it and just finish those tumbles in the other tumblers I have. If you have a work shed and live in a secluded spot, great. They seem to work as well as any other tumblers their size. But if you have close neighbors or need to do it in you home, buy something else. All rock tumblers make noise, but the squeaking is just unbearable. If I had to do it again, I would NOT buy this. Terrible design as far as the drums sliding until they rub something and squeak endlessly. 3/4/25 - Not 3 months after purchase, I removed the barrels and turned off the machine so I could rinse, change grit and move on to the next stage. Upon returning the barrels, it now just squeals loudly and will not rotate all, even with the barrels removed (so not the weight). I cleaned and lubed and turned it off and back on with nothing on it and it still would do nothing. After sitting for a day, I tried it and it hesitated and then started up. A slight squeal at the start, but it's still running 3 days later. On top of this, I contacted the company wanting to know what the problem could be, do I need a new motor or what do they suggest and do they even sell those separately and a week later......still no response. So, doesn't seem to have longevity and zero customer service. Bottom line. Do not purchase this one. Choose another brand even if it's more expensive as this will only break down and you will have to then buy the other one anyways. Mine made it through one complete cycle and is not about a $100.00 POS or a very big paperweight. Zero customer service - so dropping this from 3 stars to 1.

No amount of lubrication, adjusting and readjusting would stop this unit from the annoying racket of screeches, chirps, and squeaks it made during operation. The screws would just not hold their adjustments. After each readjustment, it would work quietly for about five minutes before the racket would begin again. The unit looked pretty good on the outside and the drums appeared good quality but the inside workings were cheap and flimsy and this was the more expensive of the units. Sending it back. UPDATE: After fiddling with the unit some more (we hated to have to send it back) we decided to check to see if it was on the level AND IT WASN'T. Because of this, the drums were putting more pressure on the rollers toward the pulley side and riding up against that side. A piece of a cedar shingle, about 3/8 of an inch, was placed under the "feet" of the side of the unit under the motor to raise it to level. We have been running the unit for a couple of days since this adaptation and it has quieted right down. Raised the rating from one to four stars and will keep it.

Most notable: The tumbling rocks are loud. If you're in a quiet place, amazingly loud. Way louder the first few days, but still way too loud to be inside your home without some kind of sound blocking or dampening. The inside sealing lid is very hard to remove. Screw the knob back on and use pliers to pry it off. Upside is, it's unlikely to leak. Extra rubber edges (that make it so tight) for the internal lid are included, probably because they wear out over time. Each cylinder interior is 4 inches deep and 4 inches in diameter, so a 2 inch rock is probably around your max size to work well. You'll need to balance that out with smaller rocks for optimal surface contact. Decent instructions on the tumbling part. Not so good on the machine maintenance part. After a week run so far, the machine seems solid. There's a belt in there somewhere that's supposed to get adjusted as it slackens with use. Loud, but good value for the price. EDIT: After a couple runs, I'm finding the loudness depends on your ratio of rocks/grit/water. The current run is not loud at all. It's 20 feet from me in another room and I can't hear it at all. Just wanted to correct that initial review. After a few weeks use, it's all working well and doing the needful.

I bought this as an affordable starter unit for my stepson who loves tumbled stones. It has very good features for the price and is not noisy at all when the barrels are properly loaded. Please remember that you are literally tumbling rocks. The features, capacity, and price convinced me to take a shot. Maintenance is minimal and easy. The bushings that need to be oiled before use and periodically are simply at the ends of the rolling rods. It’s very easy to apply a few drops to each when changing grits. Just apply it where the metal rod enters the black plastic on each end. It’s not clearly shown in the directions. The motor seems to have pretty good torque and extra drive belts are included. Mine did not require any adjustment. I’ve read some inferences that you’re on your own after you purchase the unit so buyer beware. The manual states there is a limited lifetime warranty. I found the company to be very responsive and helpful when I messaged them through Amazon. The unit is pretty well packaged but somehow one of the barrels was damaged during shipping from an unlucky hit. I received a response to my message within 12 hours of sending. The staff was very helpful and polite. After a couple messages and providing some pics I was notified that a new unit was being shipped to me. I received the replacement within 3 days and was in perfect shape. The have the tumbler running on my garage floor. Will this unit last a decade of constant use? I have no idea but I believe for the price point it’s difficult to beat. Especially if you aren’t sure you or your kids will want to be constantly tumbling. The price makes starting a new hobby Be a little easier on the wallet. Please remember that this tumbler does not come with any stones or grit. I hope you have as great of an experience with this tumbler as my stepson and I have.

It was a good tumbler in the beginning, but after a few months, it no longer easily tumbles the drums, although I maintained the device. The lids of the drums are horrible to work with. My cheaper National Geo tumbler works better.
