Features

  • The Little Stopper is a long exposure filter that reduces the amount of light entering your lens by six stops
  • It is ideal for those low-light conditions at the beginning and end of the day (when a darker filter may prove too much), allowing you to enjoy increased flexibility with exposure times
  • By greatly extending exposure times, the Little Stopper has the effect of allowing anything that is moving in your image to become blurred or ghost like, for example clouds, waterfalls, rivers, and the sea. The filter can also be used on cityscapes to blur people or on roads and motorways to blur traffic
  • Used creatively the Little Stopper can change the way we look at moving objects and capture a real sense of time passing in your images
  • We know what it takes to produce precise, reliable, and repeatable results. Our continual investment in research and development allows us to embrace new technologies and adapt to the ever-changing needs of our customers. Its our ability to meet these needs that has kept us at the forefront of filter manufacturing in the UK for half a century

  • A must have for long exposure photographers
Having the Lee Big Stopper and a big fan of long exposure photography I wanted to try the Lee Little Stopper and am VERY pleased with it. I have about 10 complete Lee Foundation systems and almost everything Lee makes with the exception of the Little Stopper so this was a must try. The 1.8 stop filter is (as with everything Lee makes) made extremely well. hHaving the 1.8 comes in a LOT handier in more instances then using the Lee 10 stop Big Stopper and therefore I think you;ll find yourself using it more often. I did do several tests stacking the Lee Big & Little Stoppers (a total of 16 stops) and the results were excellent. I use these apps on iphone (ipad) to automatically figure exposure times and they're never fail in long exposure photography: ExpoCalc, Long Exposure, Filter Compute, ND Timer and Exposure Guide. There are a couple of others I have tested out that work well too but these are among the top. My go to two Apps for this type of calculations would be (in this order) 1. ExpoCalc 2. • Lil Stopper works fine
I tried to stack it with Big-Stopper and results were not good. Left with a ring of light and flare. So I have to figure why stacking is having issues. Then another reviewer below provided this answer and it solved the problem: Stacking stoppers is always going to be problematic. Used singularly they should always be used in the slot closest to the lens with the foam gasket facing the lens. The gasket seals the filter against the filter holder to prevent light leakage. If you add a second stopper in the next slot there are two open sides that will allow light to leak in and hence overexpose and flare. You would need to seal these gaps somehow (black tape or otherwise) to use two together. ON ITS OWN I USED Little Stopper and it did exactly what it is meant for....gave me reasonable exposures in waning light but not so long that it is impossible to determine the correct exposure because light changes so much. Buy without fear....you need it! ... show more

  • Excellent filter
Very good filter if you know how to use it. Is made of glass which is better quality than comparable resin filters. You do need to have appropriate 100mm filter holder system to use this filter. Really no complaints on this product....you can't go wrong with LEE. In many regards I use this more than the comparable 10-stopper filter which I also purchased. Usually 6 stops is all I need to get down to 1-4 second exposures for doing waterfall shots. ... show more

  • LOVE THIS THING!
Is it pricey? Yeah, but it'll last forever and works great. I have not seen really any color cast at all. I use it with a Formatt Hitech holder since I already had one. Will be buying the big stopper as well when budget allows.

  • Mostly Solid
The only reason for not giving 5 stars is the slight color cast. Simple enough to fix but at this price I feel like I shouldn’t have to fix it in post. My copy pulls my images towards the blues and greens. Otherwise it’s a solid piece of glass and I’ve really enjoyed using it. I’m heavily invested enough in the Lee system that I’d likely buy it again if I broke mine. ... show more

  • Great for Sunset or Sunrise hours
I have the "Big Stopper" but seem to get my best landscape pics with fading light in the evening or morning so I tried this to get a little more light into the mix. It met my needs perfectly. The Big Stopper is great for mid-day, but this little gem is what's needed for the perfect sunset or dawn photos. ... show more

  • Long Exposure Photography
I live on the south east coast of Florida and take a lot of long exposure photos along the beach. The Lee Little Stopper allows me to shoot in the late afternoon by blocking enough light I can take exposures up to two minutes. I also like it because with the filter in place I can still see my settings through the view finder. ... show more

  • exceptional
excellent filter, yes pricy but very good quality, of course the color cast is there and if someone claiming the opposite is a lie, but it is easy to fix. if you are seriouse about your photography i'd say it is worth the investment.
