Two issues with this product: The cable is soldered onto the typical LED strip inside the housing, but there is no cable strain relief. If the cable moves much around, such as hanging and you grab the switch to turn it on and off, it will break at some point at those solder connections. Secondly if you buy this with the included USB power adapter, be warned. It is only a 1A output and if you turn both color temperature LEDs on, this will draw the listed 1.2A, which means you a.) will not get the maximum power and b.) you will tax this power supply at 100% and it can lead to fire depending on how well built it is. ... show more

Tried battery run LEDs but if you forget the light and leave it on, the batteries run out quickly. These are USB plugin, so pick up a USB extension cable if you need to reach an outlet. Very easy to mount. So much is made of plastic these days you kind of expect a cheap housing to any device costing only $16. These are made of aluminum and whoever put the mounting packet together knew that some people want things in weird places. There are magnets under the aluminum, and if you are mounting to something that isn't magnetic or iron they give you little metal disks and sticky pads. As well as clips to hold the wires and switch. Love this! I ordered 3 to illuminate my kitchen countertop at my dorm apartment as kitchen lighting stinks! I used all three under my cabinets and it made my countertop nice and bright safe enough for cutting also makes it easier to see what’s in the sink as well. Because I’m in a dorm where there cannot be damage, I installed the bars with command heavy duty strips and they seem to stay on! If theese were like 5 or $10 cheeper, I would have also got one for my headboard and one to put over my closet! I’m very happy with this purchase! ... show more

    • Just what I wanted and needed

I have had this light mounted and been using it about a month now and it works great. Lights up my workspace perfectly and adjusts brightness as need or can be switched to warm lighting as I am getting closer to bedtime. Perfect. Well, almost. It was as it says easy to install. Stick adhesive pads to metal brackets, stick those to the surface where you want them to hang and magnetically hang the light by the metal brackets. All works as advertised. However, every now and then the adhesive of one the sticky pads lets go and it drops right on my laptop keyboard. When working away that is pretty startling ,let me tell you. I am on the lookout for some better adhesive pads but otherwise it is exactly what I need. Honestly, I think I'd appreciate it more it the seller/manufacturer could send me 2 more metal brackets so that I know I can use them when I find some better, possibly from 3M, sticky pads for this. Apparently, at least from the photos, it already uses 3M sticky pads but I have one that still keeps falling off and it's because the glue on the 2-sided tape on one side of the pad lets go of the pad and it drops. the tape itself remains stuck to the shelf. BTW: this after approximately 6 weeks of occasional use. It falls off even when the light has been on for several days. ... show more

I purchased the fixture for my workplace desk. I work in a small office space where we prefer not to turn on the florescent overhead lighting and opt for softer lighting which necessitates the addition of a light source directly over our work space. The light fixture is very light-weight so I was unsure of how well it would work. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to install. I simply used the included adhesive magnets to mount the light fixture underneath my office hutch. The small magnetic disc is visible in the second photo. This is a great feature as it allows one to remove it and then replace it easily. This enables me to use the fixture as a flashlight if I ever drop anything under or behind my desk. I also like that it gives you options as to the type of light (soft, blue, daylight) and the ability to dim the lighting. You can see the small control switch in the first photo. ... show more

Installed in my ikea SvYDe cabinet. One coole feature is that the on off switch illuminates when its off. It makes it easy to turn on the light in the dark. The magnetic feature is on the ends of the lightbar, not in middle of light. So keep that in mind when applying. Great light, dimmable, good price. ... show more

I love this and have no idea how I did any work before I ordered it. I placed the L brackets about half way out from the wall on the shelf above my desk and can use either side of the hanging down bracket and then the part directly on the surface to face the light at the wall, down, or at my face. Each is useful for different circumstances. The different modes are great and I prefer the mixed light version most of the time, but sometimes opt for the orange-ish one only. The included clips are very useful too. My one complaint is that it sometimes there's a horrible frequency that it emits. As i wear headphones a lot, it's not the end of the world but could use a bit of refinement on the electrical components to address this. ... show more

I bought this light so that I could have our smart plug turn it on automatically as it got darker sooner, unfortunately it’s not compatible with the smart plug. When it gets turned off, it stays off without a physical push of the on/off button. I otherwise really like the slimline format, the cool temperature of the LED, and the warm/cool lighting options, we will keep it anyway and happily find another use for it. ... show more
