The what and why. These lights replaced two High bay Halide lights in my shop. I was apprehensive before purchasing these as the old ones functioned. So, I waited until a light blew. The review. These lights are very bright and do not have the delay which the old ones had. Simply put, I would buy these again and would tell myself to replace the old ones sooner. I just wired my shed with electricity for one reason only, to have light! My house garage is about 60' from my detached metal building/shed and have been using a battery powered Milwaukee Rover light for going on three years now as my light source and finally decided to dedicate a weekend to wiring my shed and looking for a light fixture that would require minimal work, but provide a lot of light and this fixture did just that. I have attached 5 pictures showing my shed/garage building with the lights off and on and then another picture of the enclosed portion where I wired one of these with two directional armed 60 watt LED fixtures to throw light in specific areas. I also have a closeup picture on how I wired one of the lights into a receptacle. Overall, the lights work great, are very bright and are almost instant on. They take about a second or half second for them to turn on once I throw the light switch. I'm very pleased with these and highly recommend them. Now to see how long they last and hold up. They have good heft to them, are well packaged, come with a safety wire (it is on the short side), and I got them with 1 day shipping with my Prime Membership which is the main reason I chose this brand over other brands, but glad I did because there were other fixtures that were about $10 less, but the shipping was several days later. Great lights for your shop. Lights are very bright (I prefer a very well lit work area). Purchased higher wattage/lumen options. I even spaces 12 lights in a shop sized 30’ x 64’ with 16’ sidewalls.

Initially went with 150 watt but way too bright. Went will 100watt 15000 lumens and is super bright but not blinding like the 150. Watt. Bright white light was nothing 24x30 metal building no shadows and can see clearly everywhere

We installed 8 of the 150 watt and 1 of the 100 watt lights in our brand new building (48' x 32' x 14') and there is a huge amount of light. Most likely we could have gotten away with 3 fewer lights but we set the lights up in groups of 3 so we could turn on/off lights if we aren't working in that part of the building. The light is a great color temperature to do almost any kind of work under. We considered going with the dimmable version but in the end we are glad we didn't. These are a much simpler install and we can just turn off lights if we don't need/want as much light in the area. Simply plug them into a standard 120VAC outlet and the lights come on. It doesn't get any easier than that. About the only thing you will need that isn't included with the light is a hook to hang them on. If you get an open hook, if one of the lights burn out, simply unplug the light, unhook it and hang a new light. ... show more

I replaced 4 "old school" single bulb porcelain fixtures with these high bay lights in my garage. I can't properly say what a difference it made. Quite literally night and day. In the middle of the night, it is like day light in the garage now. It is somewhat situational, but you should be able to replace the fixtures yourself. I pulled the wire out of the circular boxes in the ceiling and set new junction boxes using remodel boxes. I wired receptacles into the new junction boxes. I set hooks into the ceiling framing and hung the lights from the hooks using simple chains. From there, it is plug and play. Way worth the effort! ... show more
