I had a light that was similar to this one, from a different company, installed over the stairwell landing going down to my basement. I'm guessing it was made of very cheap plastic because I only had it for about a year and a half before the plastic casement around the screws holding it together cracked and it was only hanging from the wire. I'm not sure if the heat in the base of the unit was causing this to happen, but I needed a replacement. This light is very bright, but not overpowering. It's not as bright as the prior light I had, but it definitely does the job. I think the best application for this kind of light is for areas where you have a high ceiling. That way, it won't get knocked around and it's powerful enough to illuminate a large area. My only fear is the plastic casement holding the wires and electronics might do the same thing as my prior light. Luckily, this comes with 2 lights in case one gets broken. It's all cheap plastic so my biggest concern is durability, hence the 4 stars. If it holds up for more than 2 years, I'll probably stop back and update my rating. ... show more

    • Not the same brightness as my other 12000LM lights

I have a few 120 watt 12000 lm lights. I did not see that this said 60 watt but I was looking at the 12000 lm. It is 1/2 the brightness according to my light meter which would make sense. I am guessing that they are 6000 lm bulbs. Nice bulbs but don't like that they were advertised incorrectly

I like them! Some of these very bright lights tend to not last long, so I will update if needed later. I have them in my garage on a motion sensor so they see often on/off's, let's see how good the quality is!

All the reviews made it seem like this made the darkened room as bright as the sun....that is not the case. They are brighter than the old, non-LED lights, but they are nothing special. If I was to redo this I would by the 4 ft LED shop lights and wire in a outlet to use them.

The light is quite bright. I think some reviewers have over dramatized the brightness, but it's pretty good. Looks better than a naked bulb too. Just screw it into an existing light socket. It does come with sockets in case this is new construction or something.

These lights are like the difference in night and day, compared to my old garage lights. Just screw into the light socket, easy. no more messing with florescent tubes on a step ladder. The bonus is they are much better lights. They come on instantly to. I wish I had bought them years ago.
