The gooseneck part of it bends very easily in any direction you need. You can have it set high up or move it closer down towards anything you want to shine the light on. If I were dreaming up the ideal desk lamp it would come out just like this item. It has: seven levels of brightness (each indicated by a blue LED in a row on the base). Has a flexible neck that stays exactly where you position it. A color cast from bluish thru white to candlelight yellow, a white diffuser for very even illumination and a sleek modern look.     • If it's LED, why does it get HOT?
I really like this light. I bought 3. It uses next to NO energy, which is important to me as I rely on solar power. But I have to wonder why it gets HOT if it's LED.

This is a nice lamp. You can vary the brightness across a wide range quite easily. It also has different tints of light from yellow to white to a bluish tint, that you cycle through at the touch of a button. Elegant interface, works well.
