Initially I was absolutely tickled when I received this and it was installed professionally. Love the options of very extremely cold white, almost blue light, all the way to Sunshine warm. With bright and dim and an option for a night light. Used about 1 hour a day for 2 weeks and now the cool LED on a large outer ring doesn't light at all, it only works for the warm light. It is 14 ft in the air and I will have to hire someone to come take a look at it. These lights were supposed to last nearly 10 to 15 years with our type of usage. I found three major issues on this light: 1. The wire is too short so it's very hard to install 2. The remote does not do what the manual says. For example, I tried to get clear light by pressing "on" 5 times but nothing changes; pressing the grouping controls does nothing neither. 3. This is an interesting light; if you like the product listing pictures you will like it, as it looks exactly as advertised. One thing that isn’t mentioned in the listing; the remote is used to set the brightness and color temperature, but once you set it, the light will return to that setting when you turn it on and off, so you can still use your wall switch (NOT a dimmer). I’m not sure if this will hold after extended power off cycles, but if you keep the remote handy to reset it you shouldn’t have any problems. The light is very bright, as advertised, and I have it dimmed to about 80%. There are some installation issues “tricks and tips” that I will share, but overall, it went up easier than I expected at first glance – it is a two person job, however. When assembling the lamp, don’t overtighten the rings – it is handy to move them around while you are putting them up and just reposition them after it is installed. They will stay in place unless you are mounting it on an angle or prone to earthquakes. The 8 rings each individually plug into 8 cables coming out of the power supply box. This leaves you with a mess of wires and the power supply box is prone to sliding around which will hinder installation. I solved this by connecting everything, putting the box on the light base (making sure there were no wires under it), and using a couple of cable ties to bundle the wiring. That held everything flat and in place and made fitting the light to the mounting bracket simple. One other caution; do NOT use the wiring clip that comes with the light for connecting the mains power. These clips do not secure the wires well, and given that they may not fit into the clips all the way, some metal can be exposed. Given the amount of wiring in the base, and the all-metal power supply, this is a safety hazard. Throw the clip away and use wire nuts. All in all, I am happy with this light. I took a star off as I had to work out a solution for the wire mess and the mains power, but if you’re reasonably adept you shouldn’t have a problem installing it. The light so easy to install. Just follow the installation video on the product page and got it done in like 20 min. The only hard part was to mount it to the ceiling.
