  • Totally Worth It
Pattern Name: Magnetic Marble Run
This is a pretty great toy set. It’s imaginative and fun as well as inventive. All our kids ages 2-7 like playing with it. They love to race the marbles down the tracks and will do so for a long time. It comes with a set of laminated cards you can use for inspiration. Our youngest liked these a lot and I was surprised how well they could follow the card to make a track. It made it a toy they could use without me!! Though we use it a great deal together. The pieces are light but sturdy made of foam and have taken significant use and are holding up well. Since we use them on a chalk board they have been cleaned a bit too and they still look great after being covered in colored chalk. The magnets are strong and the pieces hold well, but not ridiculously so. Making rearranging or removing easy. The marbles that come with it are a bit lighter than the standard run of the mill kind so work best with the set. But regular ones work well too (since we seem to lose the given ones from time to time). It’s when you build a track that gets going fast and the force of the stop makes the basket piece fall off. But who can get mad at that? The tracks can go pretty fast. ... show more

  • My kids love it!
Pattern Name: Magnetic Marble Run
My kids fight over this, it's a great learning toy! My kids are 11, 7, and 3 and they all like it and are able to play with it in different ways. The older kids make more complex tracks on their own and the 3 year old loves putting the marbles in and watching them go. I often have to help the toddler with creating and adjusting the track, but he still has a ball. We use it on our fridge and garage door. The magnets don't stick as strongly to the door, but I figure that is because it is a textured metal door. I am considering buying another set so we can make really big marble runs. ... show more

  • Awesome creativity
Pattern Name: Magnetic Marble Run
I bought this product for my classroom to use with second graders. The kids had a great time, trying to figure out how to make the marble run. There was plenty of cooperative learning, and the kids were so excited when it worked! It took lots of planning and replanning, but they did it. Then they started all over again to make a new design. ... show more

  • New favorite marble run
Pattern Name: Magnetic Marble Run
I'm a sucker for marble runs of all types and sizes, so this went into the cart right away when I stumbled upon it. It is one of the funner marble runs I've purchased over the last decade for my five kids, I just wish I'd discovered it sooner. It is very easy to rearrange the pieces compared to a traditional run, which makes it great for experimenting and tweaking. Two notes: 1) I am using it on a 4x6 white board. I don't think it would work well on a fridge. 2) I wish it was a bit cheaper or had double the pieces to make me feel better about the price. Other than that, love it. Genius idea and the kids find it vastly entertaining - I think it will also make a good party gift for the kids who already have it all. :) ... show more

  • Fun Activity
Pattern Name: Magnetic Marble Run
Learning resource toys are all excellent quality. This is a fun one! I like to have the children I work with try to problem solve when they did not set up the tracks like the pictures & the ball misses the target. It comes with different cards to set up a variety of patterns but they can also be creative & come up their own ideas. ... show more

  • Lots of fun!
Pattern Name: Magnetic Marble Run
Bought for my preschool. Not as sturdy as I was hoping, but I think they'll be ok. I do have a toddler running around and I have to make sure she doesn't get to the pieces, but the four year olds have been ok using them. You do need a pretty big magnetic space to use them. I have a large white board and I'm glad it isn't mounted on the wall yet because some of the cards required turning it portrait instead of landscape. ... show more

  • Fun for the kid, but not particularly well-made
Pattern Name: Magnetic Marble Run
First-off, my kid loves these, and has created some impressive courses on our fridge. However, I've had to repair a few pieces of the front, marble-guard plastic that began peeling off after well under a month of pretty gentle use. Clear packing did the trick, so no huge problem there. The other, somewhat worse problem is that the pieces will shift some when a marble falls onto it, and the "catch basin" piece cannot even stay in place when all four supplied marbles are placed in it. I'll note that I have an old-style (1980'S) painted refrigerator, so the problem is not from a surface being stainless or otherwise insufficiently ferrous. Nonetheless, it's fun and educational. A few more pieces, some stronger magnets, and better adhesives, and this could be a five star toy. ... show more
