Also, I've read here about them leaking salt and pepper. I keep these sitting in a pair of small white ramekins which catch any spilling. They also contrast with the blue perfectly. These seem overpriced but work so much better than our other brand ones. Yes, the are plastic on the outside but inside is ceramic and they grind so much better than any other set we've ever had

Really disappointed in these. I expected more from Le Cruset. And certainly expected more for what they cost. Firstly, they are plastic. Didnt expect that. It prob. Says as much somewhere, so, my bad i guess. But for almost $60, i expected better. Because they are plastic, the color isnt whats pictured. The gradient dark red at the bottom isn't really there. Also, they're tiny. They hold about 1.5 tablespoons of saly and pepper. If that. Id return them, but they were bought before Thanksgiving for Christmas, and already got filled (and need refilled about every 2 days) so i guess were stuck. They're not at all worth the price. Im embarassed i paid more than about $15. I wish i could return them. Shame on Le Cruset. ... show more

These arrived in excellent packaging and are of course a wonderful product. They only lose a star because they are overpriced, but I wanted to give them to my daughter-in-law for Christmas.
