These are a little cumbersome to connect to the stake -- the screw is very short and aligning the washer is tricky. But that's not a big deal. More of a problem is that one of the lights already shows drops of water inside, so they are far from waterproof. They need some sort of cut-out on the rim around the light to allow water to drain off quickly. The light is bright and generally pleasing (i.e., somewhat warm).

The quality of the light it emits is excellent. It has a fairly narrow beam and is near the claimed lumens. It certainly fits the "warm" spectrum which is easy on the eyes. The metal casting is high quality, as is the silicone gasket. There is also a high quality wire gland, both of which will keep ALL water and bugs out. The ground wire is floating in the housing. The unit isn't UL or CSA listed. I'm not too concerned as most users likely run outdoor lights on ground fault protected circuits anyway... just service when off and take common sense precautions. Hopefully the manufacturer will address that in the future. The hardware is actually stainless steel! The paint doesn't appear to be baked on, so it will chip if handled roughly, yet the housing will not rust so this should not be an issue. The bracket is painted steel -- the only regular steel part. Considering what you get, it fits a niche market for a lot of easy landscape light on a budget. Great for whole house illumination.

This light so far is working great! I have used other types of outdoor lights that don't last because water seeps in and corrodes the inside. Only use lights that have LED lighting built in, which saves you money, and says it's waterproof! This 18W, warm white light is bright enough to light up a section of your home and reaches tall trees.

If you need the lumens, pay the extra for the 18W versions. They cost more for a reason. I used them to illuminate the front architectural details of my three story house.
