So far so good. I usually don't like to leave product reviews for a while after using the product. I can't really see what could go wrong. I'll give you the meat and potatoes right away. This mower is cheap, light weight, simple to use right out the box, and handy. If you got electricity you mowing. No dying battery worries. No gas needed. No spark plug changes, etc etc. Now you will have to be the type of person who can think through cord placement. Think of elders, MS / Multiple Sclerosis individuals, Rheumatoid arthritis, and / or basically anyone who wants to mow their grass on their own, but struggles with strength or muscle strength fluctuations, etc. The only small caveat I would mention is your grip. If your grip is off and on, I'd get a weightlifting strap to wrap around the handle to ensure you can keep the lever engaged. Or maybe I just have small hands. The lever to move up and down is pretty simple. KEEP IN MIND THIS IS A CHEAP MOWER SO IT WILL FEEL AND LOOK LIKE A TOY! But it is mighty. Noisy...lol. But when I tell you it cuts grass like no other. My backyard grass was high and grows like thats its full time job. You can literally sit out there and watch it grow if you wanted. lol I could literally mow it every 4 days and it would like that. The mower did what most do. I've had gas as well as the reason why I got this mower was as a backup to the Dewalt Battery mower I have. Ugh Dewalt gets on my nerves. Anyhoo its more expensive and in the shop right now. I wanted this as a backup so if all else fails as long as I got electricity I'm mowing. It bogs down like any mower would in high grass but tip back on those back wheels just a smidge and it comes back to life...never dies. At this price even if it only lasts one season, I've got my money's worth. I got the 2 year warranty. But I really can't see what could go wrong. I believe in fresh air and some physical activity for my MS. The fact that I have to stop and work with the cord is a plus. It forces me to stop and rest more. I'm not exhausted by the heavy mower. I call it my tonka toy lol

I read all the reviews for this "new" version ME1218X.01 and the "old" version of ME1218X. By the way, the "old" and "new" versions appear to be identical, with no serious technical improvements made to the "new" version. Despite worrying about all the bad reviews between the two, I chose this "new" version cause it was the lowest cost, corded lawn mower, that had side discharge. In addition, it is one of the very few corded lawn mowers that had that function. And it was part of a very small group of corded mowers that could cut as high as 4 inches. When I got the mower, I noticed all these scuff marks on it (perhaps used when I ordered for new). And the back wheel next to the height adjuster was not able to move fully, except for maybe a couple of inches back and forth. The height adjuster was touching the wheel, so it blocked the wheel from fully turning. If the company legitimately did quality control, by testing every mower made, they would have easily seen that wheel could not move cause of no spacing between the wheel and the height adjuster. Lastly, this did not look like a durable mower. You can start with the wheels, which are made of a very thin plastic. I could see any of the wheels potentially cracking or falling off over time. It would have been better had they used rubber wheels. Despite one wheel not moving and the other three wheels moving ok on my indoor flooring, they would not move as smoothly if used outside, especially if your lawn is not completely flat. This mower would be a big no on any incline/slope because of the thin wheels and the bulkiness/heaviness of the mower. Lastly, the height adjuster was very stiff to move. If you have any grip issues, this would be a mower to not consider buying. Because the stuck wheel was not easily detected by the company, it makes we wonder how much else they missed during inspection (if they truly had an inspection). I trust the reviews about the motor dying out or plastic melting around the motor, based on the poor impression I got from the mower so far. I did see one of multiple, identical videos on YouTube that showed how grass clippings somehow slip into the motor area. These grass clippings help block the vents in the motor casing and so the motor becomes hotter than it should. This hotness can lead to melting the surrounding plastic. Because this was the cheapest mower that cut up to 4 inches, was under 40 pounds and has side discharge, I thought before buying that ok I will put up with the inconvenience of removing grass from the motor, even middle of mowing. But just unboxing this mower indoors made me realize I would have worry every time out when this will die out. And why risk losing $140 on something that has a high risk if failing, even if you treat the mower gently. $140 is a lot of money even if it on the "cheaper" side of corded mowers. So unfortunately almost every mower here is bagging and mulching only, if you want a mower that is not heavy (pounds around mid 30s or less). And if you want all three with all three functions (bagging, mulching and side discharge) or just side discharge with mulching, the weight will be about 46 pounds or higher. I could not find a mower that did both bagging and side discharge. And if you have slopes /inclines / hills like me, heavy mowers will do some long term damage to your back and knees over time. And this mower felt heavier than I thought beforehand, despite having no bagging function. Altogether I could not trust that this mower could last long term. So I returned it. It was a waste of money. If I find a mower that seems good, I will try and update that on here.

This is probably my top purchase of the year! I have a raised bed garden, its compact and uses the space i have well. BUT weeds and grass grow like crazy between beds and containers. I tried using a weed eater, and it worked okay, but was alot of work. It hurt my shoulder to use. But I did it. However, in the thick of summer, the weed eater was nothing against the weeds. Especially sticker weeds that ended up getting wound around the blade. Then I saw this guy. It was so easy to put together, the batteries came charged, and the blade is powerful. This guy gets into knooks and crannys. It mowed down everything I personally needed done thru my small space. I agree if you are buying this to do a whole yard, its sort of rediculous. Get a full size, IMO. BUT, if you dont have much to mow, or your mowing is mainly walkways or paths, small tight spaces, around a garden, or even like a pool or shed, this guy is fantastic! I love him so much. When I use this guy, its maybe for 5-10 minutes, and the battery never runs out. I keep them (it came with 2) inside and on the charger. Replaces 40ish minutes of useless weed wacking. And you just dump the clupping material directly into your composting pile. So easy Its not for every yard, but if you want something small, quick, compact, that won't take up your whole shed, for little jobs...this is your guy!

This lawn mower and trimmer combo works surprisingly well! Both are lightweight, easy to maneuver, and get the job done without the hassle of dealing with gas or cords. The mower cuts nicely, and I appreciate the adjustable cutting heights. The trimmer is also convenient for getting around edges and areas the mower can’t reach. My biggest complaint is definitely the battery life. While both tools perform well, the batteries don’t last quite as long as I’d like, especially when trying to get the entire yard done at once. Having two batteries included is helpful, but it would be nice to get more runtime out of each charge. I do like how compact everything is, making storage much easier compared to larger lawn equipment. The cordless design is also a huge plus! Overall, this is a great combo for smaller yards or quick lawn maintenance. It does a great job cutting and trimming, but the battery life is something to consider if you have a larger yard. I’d give it 4 stars for its performance and convenience, with room for improvement on battery runtime!

If I'm being honest, I would give this a 9/10 stars, but here there can only be whole out of 5 stars, because I knew what kind of issues it may have but I really needed something to help me deal with my lawn. I read reviews and was wary but it was recommended to me in real life, so I gave it a shot. I have been getting letters for months for violating city ordnance I've tried neighbors, a lawn service, I used a weed eater I bought on my whole lawn and none of that was enough to keep up, the grass just grows really fast I guess. Anyway, on to the product: it comes with two small batteries partially charged like most rechargeable things, they're kind of small honestly but the mower is too (but inexpensive! Which is why most people would buy this one). They last about 45 minutes in my experience, and charge in 30, which isn't bad. If you have tall or tough grass (not all grass is made equal) this won't be an easy mower to use at first, but I've mowed a few times now, and once the grass is at a manageable level it's not too bad. My grass started between about 1 and 3 ft - I measured with my legs - and it took 3 hours and two full charges of both batteries on my 40 square foot yard (it's pretty small, about 20 x 20 ft), and the last time I got most of my yard done with one full charge. It's light weight and compact, but the basket it comes with is the thing that makes it take the longest, I have to empty it several times for my yard. It's not too loud, definitely more quiet than the gas mowers I've used, so you can do as I've done and mow at 3am with little risk of annoying people (don't if you have noise ordinances though, just to be safe), and hearing protection may not be strictly necessary but headphones are fun to use while mowing anyway. it's not real easy to use on too uneven of surfaces, but since it's so compact going up hill isn't hard, just be careful if you have burrowing animals. Overall it stands on it's own when shopping around for an inexpensive lawn option.

FIRST USE 10/22/24: Very easy to set up! Only had to look at the directions once for one thing. Can also see setup on YouTube... “Full unboxing, setup & how to use: Lawnmaster Cordless 13-inch lawnmower 24v.” The grass catcher is solid just enough to hold the grass. Like the company wasn’t going to give an ounce more of a better quality of the plastic. First turn on: It’s very quiet! It’s very child like! “Very Fisher Price!” I’m 55 and I felt like I shouldn’t be using it unless I was 7 yrs old helping my dad cut a small portion of easy lawn to make feel like I was helping out and making me feel like I was a big boy. Or like I was an older widow and it’s just me left and I’m in my 70’s and I stay active and cut my very small simple lawn. I also felt like I may be embarrassed if someone had stopped by while using it. Lol. Does it cut grass?…Yes. You have to do double the laps because it covers only about half of what a regular mower would cut. And I had to go over some missed high grass. I bought this because I needed one more cut for the season and out of nowhere my regular mower didn’t start up. Worked last use and now it doesn’t. I’m not that man that knows how to tinker and take things apart like a mower to get it back up and running. So I researched this and thought there’s not much to figure out other than a dead battery. Battery: My yard I’d consider small but not tiny. There’s 4 fairly small portions to cut including the tree lawn. One battery died after about 30 minutes I think it was. (I wish I had timed it exact.) But I had enough to cut the rest with the second battery. This is definitely not going to handle anything heavy duty so be careful of rocks or foreign objects. I did buy a new inexpensive cordless battery operated weed wacker that can handle anything a bit harder. I’m 50/50 on this so I wish I could give it 2 1/2 stars but I’ll give it a 3. It’s good enough but I’m not sure if a friend would’ve let me borrow it that I would’ve wanted to buy one. I do wonder if I should’ve just put another 50 bucks or so and just bought a regular mower. Not great but not bad either. Just feelings…Lol.

This is a fun little mower. I’ve been needing a tiny one for a long time to use under my many bushes and in tight spaces where larger mowers don’t fit. It’s super light weight and it’s almost like playing with a toy, but it does have a sharp, spinning blade that’s remarkably strong for such a tiny machine. The battery should last around thirty minutes or so if it’s not under too much strain. Maybe twenty minutes in thicker grass. I used it without the basket attached so it wouldn’t have as much weight to carry against battery time. I tested it under lots of bushes with dried leaves around them and it worked better than I expected. It cut weeds easily and even managed to chop a large, thick weed that’s similar to rhubarb. I won’t plan to do that regularly because I don’t want to damage the blade. It also cut a stick that I accidentally ran over. When I ordered this tiny mower, I compared the price of extra batteries with an extra charger to the cost of a larger mower of this same brand that comes with batteries and a charger. For only fifty or so dollars over the cost of just extra batteries and a charger, I was able to get the larger mower set so that I can mow under my bushes and the rest of my yard more easily. Having to struggle with heavy self-propelled gas mowers for decades has been difficult and painful. Using these lightweight battery powered mowers is much easier and they don’t cause me to have excess pain. It’s like walking around with a vacuum, rather than wrestling with a heavy, uncooperative machine. Trying to mow around bushes and flowers with the self-propelled gas type is hard on the back, shoulders and arms. Using this little cutie instead is almost effortless. I can do it with one hand and it fits into more areas. I’ve been able to mow around all my bushes and flowers, plus do a narrow strip of grass that’s separate from the yard, with only one battery. If the grass was extra long or extra thick, it might take some of the second battery. To avoid difficulties, I simply mow more often, like every five days instead of every seven days when the grass is likely to grow faster and thicker. Trying to do this with a gas mower while gas prices are climbing daily would be pretty expensive. I can afford to mow as often as I want with battery powered mowers. The two battery mowers I bought cost less than one gas powered self-propelled mower. I’ll still use my gas one when necessary and I’ll have to use it in areas where neighboring trees continually drop branches, sticks and nuts into my yard. Battery powered mowers can’t handle that stuff. But I can use this one and the 19” one I bought as much as possible to make the job more pleasant and less painful. I’m a senior woman with health conditions that cause severe pain and weakness so anything that helps me get my work done more easily is appreciated. These mowers are quiet enough to hear birds singing while you’re mowing. It’s a great way to get a chore done while walking for exercise. Pushing the mowers is almost effortless. They’re so lightweight that they’re easier to move around than a self-propelled type. The handle on this 13” size is somewhat fragile, so you need to be careful how you hold onto it. Turning corners puts a strain on the part of the handle that keeps the mower running. It helps to practice a little until you get the right hand position that allows you to turn corners without moving that part of the handle. The battery is easy to insert and remove once you get the hang of it. The little key has two prongs which need to be inserted properly so it will run properly. It needs to be pushed in firmly. It takes a tug to remove it. It’s held with a string and you can just make sure you keep it inside the closed section when it’s not being used. I’m able to lift both sizes of mowers that I bought, the 13” and the 19”. There’s a 16” size, too, in case people don’t want the larger or smaller sizes. This brand was recommended for seniors and people with health issues in many of the online articles I read while looking for a decent lightweight mower. For the price, you can’t really go wrong. If you have a bumpy yard like I do, you’ll probably notice the bumps when using these lightweight mowers, but they won’t rattle your entire body like they do with a heavy gas mower. My gas mowers have a tendency to hit me in the mouth or chin with the handle when I have to bend down to mow under low tree branches. The little lightweight kind aren’t likely to do that because I can control them with one hand and not my entire body. And the handles on the lightweight ones are comfortable. You don’t need to strain your arms to use them. These nice lightweight mowers make all the difference in the world.

My lawn guy is WAY behind in getting his lawns done. So my grass is really tall but not real thick except in some spots. I couldn't wait any longer and broke down to buy this one with a weed eater. Was a bit nervous but today am happy I got it. It arrived yesterday so I started with the weed Wacker. It was super easy to assemble and fairly lightweight even with battery in it. The machine worked without charging the battery. I was able to knock down the tallest areas before dark. This morning I put together the mower which again is fairly easy. By now I had charged up both batteries (they do charge up fast) and took this little guy out for his first cut. I was nervous cuz the grass and weeds were really high. I pushed in the key, pushed the button and pulled back the handle. The mower started right up so I pushed him into the tall weeds and believe it or not this guy cut right through it. I got part of my rather medium to large yard done on one battery. I had to empty my basket a gazillion times but that's real easy too. He was easy to push and is very light...he pushed thru the tall grasses and weeds without stopping until the battery was too weak. I let him cool down and cleaned him up a bit underneath. Then soldiered on. We got almost the entire back yard done with two batteries. If this little guy continues to work like it did today I will be ecstatic. So for day 1 review yes this guy is worth the money to buy. I am 65 year old woman with Rheumatoid Arthritis and I was able to get her done with this machine. It's small but it's a workhorse. It's lite so it doesn't wear you out as easily as there mowers do. It cuts grass well. The trimmer works well too. Today I am very happy about this purchase. Will do updates later in the year after more uses. 2025 UPDATE - It died, the lawn mower just died on me. It hit a little stick and bam nothing, recharged the battery tried again NOTHING. IT'S DEAD. I used it about 4 times in the past year. IT'S DEAD. The weed eater is working fine still I use that more than I have used the mower. I do NOT RECOMMEND the mower. The weed eater is fine. The batteries are fine it's the mower itself did not last but 4 mows.
