If I'm not sure about the part number of my lawn mower blade,how can I confirm that this blade removal tool is suitable? First, the width of the lawn mower blade tip is within 3.3 inches/85 mm. Second, the distance between the lawn mower blade tip and the edge of the blade mounting plate is less than 2.5 inches/63 mm. Will it scratch the paint on the surface of my lawn mower during use? As with several of my tools, I had to buy this one because I can't find my other one. This tool is made well, however, some assembly is required. I highly suggest using thread locking solution on the VERY SHORT retention screws for the small disc that creates the attachment to the mower housing. This tool is not as robust ad my other one. This one has a knob to screw the shaft down to the mower housing. This may make it difficult to achieve sufficient torque to prevent slippage on the housing. If you are having issues with slippage, I would suggest a couple of possible remedies. 1) use a piece of inner tube or inner tube patching material between the disc and the mower housing, or 2) use some good penetrating lubricant like PB Blaster on the blade mounting bolt. I have not experienced slippage on either of my 3 mowers yet, but the tool is still new. As with many imported items these days, there are no instructions for assembly or use. It isn't difficult to figure out but instructions would have been nice. The tool should be durable enough for home use. I might also suggest painting it a bright ugly color so you can spot it easier on your garage/shop wall, workbench, or in your toolbox. I'm personally fond of fluorescent green or pink. Those colors really annoy me, so they really stand out amongst my tool hoard. The quality is comparable to the price. This tool fits most mowers and functions well.

It is fine I think it would be better with a wrench style tightening end instead of a plastic knob so you can really get it tight

Bought this to help change blades on my mower and it bent when tried to loosen up the old blades. Not very durable.

Easy to use was perfect

Pro: this item works well with walk behind or a self-propelled mower with standard blades. Cons: the tool failed when using it with mulching "gator" style blades. When attempting to tighten the blade to 90ft/lbs torque, the blade pushed past the tool and bent it beyond repair. On my husqvarna z-turn mower it would only lock in position on the left side of the deck. Again, it worked well with standard blades but failed with "gator" style blades.

Nice device I have used it about four or five times sharpening blades. it takes some getting used to but once you do it’s pretty functional now what I think it’s a necessity not really, but it makes a job a little bit easier but not much so I give it a four.

The lawn mower blade removal tool arrived as described. It worked well for removing and adding new blades to my riding lawnmower. My John Deere Z370r has two blades, this would also work with one blade mowers.
