As someone who religiously reads reviews before I buy anything I wanted to come back and write one for the mom who is struggling like I was. BF/pumping has been a huge struggle for me as I am incredibly prone to plugged ducts/mastitis, especially when I have to go back and forth between pumping at work and nursing at home. I tried everything including lactation consultant, supplements, hand compression, right flange/pump/bras, etc. I thought these massagers were kinda gimmicky but was desperate so I got one and it really has helped me so much. I feel like it does help my milk let down and express better, helps kinda break up clogs and get over them so much faster (usually within 24 or less) and honestly when my boob hurts so bad because it’s inflamed from a clog this just feels nice and is an easier way to apply heat while pumping than messing around trying to work around hot/cold packs. That being said I do use it in addition to everything else I’ve been doing but I feel like I finally found the perfect mixture of things for me and BF/pumping has been a night/day difference the last month or so since using this. One charge usually last me a few days of pumping and I think it’s pretty comfortable and intuitive to use. It may not work for everyone but truly wish I would’ve tried this sooner instead of struggling for the past 6 mo. It would’ve saved me a lot of pain and tears and made pumping so much better!

Wish I had this with my first two babies!

I’m so glad I bought this! My IBCLC recommended I buy this to help prep my baby for some oral stretches, but as I was nursing it occurred to me that it was perfect for also massaging into her little shoulders and down her back! With the lowest vibration setting. She loved it! The next day she was noticeably less tense, and loves getting little massages now. It’s very soft and smoothly moves against skin, so it works great for breast/ lymph massage, as well! The value for money with the different speeds is absolutely worth it, battery lasts quite a while (I haven’t run out so far). Definitely one of my favorite purchases as a frugal person and third time exclusive nursing mom!

Saved me from mastitis

This device saved me from mastitis. As a first time mom, somehow I didn’t realize that you had to continue to pump the breast milk out of your breasts. I was having trouble with my baby latching and wasn’t pumping for days after leaving the hospital. My breasts were so swollen and hard that I couldn’t even raise my arms and I was in tears from the pain. Eventually it clicked that I needed to continue to pump, so I did but I was left with some serious clogged ducts. They hurt so bad and I was ready to go to the doctor, but wanted to give it one last ditch try and bought this. I used it continually, but after the first use I could already notice major improvement. After using it while pumping and breastfeeding, it completely unclogged me and gave me my quality of life back! Yes, the buttons do get accidentally clicked and changed often because of their placement, but I don’t even care because this helped give me so much relief. I just change the button back to what setting I want and try to be careful to not press them again. The heating feature is amazing. I saw that a reviewer wrote that the vibration sound was so loud she couldn’t use it to breastfeed her baby, but I have no trouble with that. Maybe I have an easy baby, but he doesn’t even mind or notice the sound. Overall a great purchase

Amazing for clearing blockages AND pumping more efficiently!

For various reasons, I’ve had to exclusively pump after my daughter was born. For the sake of my sanity and to avoid being chained to the pump all day long, I am currently - at nearly 9 months postpartum - pumping 3 times a day at evenly spaced 8 hour intervals. Longer gaps between pump sessions generally require longer pump sessions in order to maintain an adequate milk supply. That’s where these beautiful massagers come in! I first came across the LaVie massager in an article from a post-pregnancy newsletter that I’ve been getting via email. I’ve always been prone to annoying painful blockages, and despite wanting some kind of vibrating tool to help combat them, nothing really existed for that purpose before (I tried one of those handheld vibrating back massagers, which failed miserably - ouch!). I ordered one up directly through the manufacturer, gave it a try, and it worked great! I started out trying the massager before and after pumping as a means of trying to clear out some of those annoying blockages. It wasn’t long before I started using it while I was pumping. I immediately noticed that the massager wasn’t only helping to clear out blocked areas, it was also helping me to pump more efficiently, too. For a while, I was actively using one massager and was constantly switching its placement from side to side while I pumped. I recently discovered that Amazon was selling the massagers, and I decided to order a second one. I’ve always had to work hard to get my milk out and empty with a breast pump. Constant use of hand massaging, compressions, and direct pressure meant that I couldn’t just sit there while I pump. Forget about surfing the web on my phone or iPad - my hands were always too busy for that. The use of TWO massagers while I pump has been game changing. Instead of moving one back and forth, I’ve been able to stuff one into each side of my pumping bra and leave them there for the duration of my pump cycle. I’m now pumping more efficiently and (even better) hands free. It’s taking less time to effectively empty out at the pump, and I think I’m even getting a little more milk output at the same time. It’s definitely a win-win in my book! Oh, and since I started using two massagers, I’ve noticed that the frequency and severity of my blockages have also gone down quite a bit. I’m definitely a fan!

Helping drain but gentle

Really helping drain my breasts and hopefully prevent the painful clogs I’ve been having. The heat takes a little time to warm up, has different rhythms and intensities for vibration, easy to use and adjust. Lasts for a few pump sessions before needing a charge-about once a day (24 hours). It does not work plugged in charging. I’m really liking it!

Update: the seller provided a refund after my review. Added an additional star due to the customer service. I thought about getting the other massager they offer but decided not to as I'm afraid it won't work (heat function) for me as well. .......... I've been pumping as my supply is not where it should be so EVERY drop counts! Unfortunately, for me, I have to massage my breast and squeeze down to get a full output. Otherwise, it'll be less than half. My hands are sore and tired so I was looking for something to replace my hands while adding some heat. SIGH! The heat level on this is equivalent to rubbing your hands together. Please don't waste your money thinking you'll get some heat here. UNFORTUNATELY, I still have to really press the massager into my skin with effort to see my flow increase...which hurts my hands as well. My hands do a better job as a massager than this product. THE OUTPUT WAS MUCH MORE WITH MY HANDS! I wish I could return this but I already left the country. This isn't it! Not a good value for money. My husband laughs at me because the device is now tossed in a corner.

Game changer for clogged ducts/exclusive pumping moms

I decided to try this product after going exclusively to pumping when my daughter turned 4 months old. She had always been the one to unclog the most painful and stubborn clogged ducts for me via breastfeeding. My greatest fear was not being able to pump/provide breast milk. The first week of exclusively pumping I was in tears 😭 from constant painful clogs and almost gave up pumping. I tried hands on pumping and other hand massagers. Then I saw an Instagram ad for this and decided wth - I’ll try it. Best product ever! Here’s why: - the unique pointed/curved shape and ability to target clogs makes it useful for a variety of breastfeeding problems. The different settings help loosen engorged breasts or target specific clogs. I put this in my pumping bra while pumping in tandem with hand massage, and it works amazingly to promote milk flow. - small and discreet: I can carry it in my purse (bonus that it has a lock feature so it doesn’t accidentally start vibrating!) to work easily to pump - great design and materials: I’ve used it almost every day 3x/day with coconut oil, and so far it hasn’t sustained any wear and tear. Also washable. - terrific battery: barely needs charging (once per 2 weeks for me), and has a handy USB charger cable - long term results: in the beginning I had to use it aggressively to get rid of multiple clogs, at every pumping. After a few weeks, my body started experiencing fewer clogs and pain. Now, two months later I rarely get clogs. I just use it to stimulate let down for the first few minutes as needed. Amazingly I am now pumping MORE volume than before, and more easily. I am beyond satisfied with this product. It has saved my tons of anxiety, pain; and has allowed me to continue pumping for my baby through 6 months. Thank you La Vie!
