Not like I needed another guitar but wow. I had played one of these about a year ago, finally decided to pull the trigger so glad i did. YouTube videos give you a great overview of this guitar so I highly recommend that if you are curious please watch those videos. You will love this guitar, I can’t seem to put it down. The feel of this is solid has a good weight. You probably would want to buy their guitar strap as well. It does slide around when you’re holding it in your lap. I find the sound qualit very good without ann of the spedcial effects. With a bit of reverb or chorous it is even better. The built in tuner is excelent, There are many features in teaching mode that are great, The playability right out of the box is first class. The electronic amplifer built in to the guitar is similar to a cell phone in that there are many functions. You will be on your own to figure out how that work as there is no documentation included. You can find some basic information on you tube. The advanced features require a wifi connection to function. If not connected to Wifi you can still play it as a normal acoustic guitar, ... show more

    • Guitar Still Defective After Repair - Extremely Disappointed!!!!

I had high hopes for the LAVA ME 4, especially at this price point (over $1,000). But shortly after receiving it, the guitar completely stopped turning on. I followed all support steps, and it was confirmed to be a battery/power issue. The company had me send it in for repair (under warranty), which took over a week—and I had to pay out of pocket for packaging. Unfortunately, when I received the guitar back, it was still completely unresponsive. I used the recommended charger and followed every instruction. Nothing worked. This has been an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience for such a premium product. I’ve now requested a full replacement, as the issue was not resolved despite a repair attempt. Buyer beware—if something goes wrong, you may not get the resolution you’d expect for a product in this price range. ... show more

I read some of the reviews and I was a little hesitant because one said that the action (string Height) was too high, and I hate that. I didn't want to have to pay a guitar tec 200 bucks to adjust a brand new guitar. I noticed that the reviews were not even model specific however. Guitar is solid but very cumbersome.Factory strings are not great. High action and heavy gauge strings not suited to fast comfortable playing or chord changes. Be prepared to adjust the neck, shave the bridge and nut and change the strings to a lighter gauge. Sound is thin and bright. It is a high tech fun toy not a serious instrument. Going into this purchase, I was a little skeptical. I have been looking for a carbon fiber guitar for a while since I live in a dry area. I heard great things about LAVA from my friends, so I wanted to give it a try. I am so glad I did, because I am extremely impressed with the purchase! The color, the material, and the technology are all top notch. I love that everything I need or could want is already built into the guitar. Tuner, effects, looping, recording, jamming with a backing track, learning, and much more. There’s even an app where you can track your progress and share your creations. I love the social aspect of it because you can listen to other people’s recordings. It also comes with an awesome gig bag, super stylish! Overall, my girlfriend and I are extremely impressed. The LAVA ME 4 is a great-sounding and tech-smart innovative guitar, but as other reviews have stated, the playability is not as good as the neck is a bit too narrow for fingers; it should be 1/4 inch wider. Also, when playing and holding the guitar from 2-1/2 feet away looking downward the bass top three strings cover the small round fret markers...so I had to order larger stick-on fret marketers and that made a huge difference (see the pictures); you'd think after paying this much for a guitar they would inlay large fret markers... Also, the strings are hard as rock and not very flexible (hard on experienced fingers), better to replace them with Elixir Nanoweb 11/52 light; for far better playability. Lastly, the single 'Looping' effect should be at least 2min minimum like other loopers. Do I see an improved LAVA ME 5 coming out sometime soon? Let's hope so. NOTE: If taking this guitar away from your home or WiFi access it will not display or be able to use many of the effects available with WiFi. To help resolve this issue you may have to use your phone as a 'Hot Spot' WiFi but that will cost most folks phone provider service minutes that may have limits before extra charges are incurred. These features in the future need to be downloaded into the guitar's memory (memory is cheap) so that all special features and effects are available when away from WiFi. ... show more
