My husband and I both use these headphones (HT5009) and enjoy the amazing sound! We are 69 yrs old and found the set up (we used the optical cord) and use of these headsets very, very simple. They are comfy and convenient. One of us will use them when we don’t want to bother the other person. Just turn down or mute the TV set’s sound and enjoy the fantastic sound from your headset! When the TV is turned on, the headset transmitter automatically comes on and you’re good-to-go when you want to use them. We keep them charged with an inexpensive wall phone charger using the USB cord included. We couldn’t be happier with this purchase. PLUS the Company is in immediate contact should you need their help. The Avantree company truly believes in the statement that a product is only as good as its customer service. We needed help with our headset while it was still on warranty and even though we were traveling, the company did everything we needed in order to get us what we needed.     • Excellent sound, easy setup, no lag.
I purchased these for my father who needed the volume on our sound system very loud to hear dialog when watching movies. These headphones have performed excellently. They are comfortable to wear, produce clear sound and have excellent battery life. The active bypass feature is very useful allowing the rest of the family to watch and listen through our theater system while my father listens through the headphones. There is no perceivable lag with the unit. Set up was very simple and straight forward and all cables were provided. Additionally, the company has been very supportive and helpful wanting to be sure everything is working well (which it has, the unit has performed flawlessly) and that we are satisfied with the product. it replies verbally and we have ben unable to turn this off. according to the instructions there is a button but it does not turn off or reduce the volume. I will have to say that Avantree responded to my review very fast. They gave us the information that we needed to fix the problem. I have no idea how it sound since I gave it as a gift to Dad. I chose the brand because the senior recipient will complaint if anything go wrong and my phone will keep ringing. My Dad is so impressed as a replacement of his broken RadioShack wireless headphone. He said it's like he's in a movie house watching Netflix at a hearing of a convalescent 89 yr old... Hmmm Amazing. I am not a headphone type of person but I'm glad that it meet and exceed the demands of an 89 yr old Dad who keep texting me complimenting about his good listening experience. ... show more

    • It does produce sound. . . . .
Really, was hoping for something great, especially because the reviews are so good. I needed something to replace my Turtle beach XP 500 headphones. However, the most important feature of this product is sound and the quality of it was not awesome. But, before I beat up these headphones, I should mention the good qualities of the Avantree headphones. They are very comfortable and adjustable. Its also nice that they are pretty light. Since the headphones are already paired out of factory, the setup is very fast. Very "plug and play". Also, the only good sound aspect of these headphones is that there is no delay of sound with Blue Tooth connection. Countering the Avantree headset, my Turtle Beach headphones produce Dolby Surround Sound, the sound that the Avantree headphones produce is not even close to any kind of surround sound, forget Dolby. I tested these headphones against my TB's with an action movie, and the sound was very hollow and had no depth. It almost sounded like listening to the movie through a tin can. I went back and forth four times with an optical connection to test the quality, because I really don't like returning items. I understand that my TB's are in a higher price category, but they are eight years old, so its not unreasonable to expect they same quality of technology from a current headphones system. I also probably should have taken the reviews with a grain of salt. Bottomline, spend more money for a better headset. The Avantree headset is good for average listening, dont expect fantastic sound. ... show more

    • Great product and easy to install
I chose this product because of the good reviews and the pass-through feature. I have a receiver that is connected to my tv via an optic cable. Once a I saw this allowed pass-through I figured, give it a try. The setup was a breeze and took a total of maybe 5 minutes. My wife is the primary user due to some hearing loss. She has loved it since the first time she used the headphones and brags how comfortable they are. I would highly recommend this product. ... show more

These headphones have a deep rich sound. If you have ever hooked up a stereo system you will no trouble getting this system up and running. It linked the first time I turned it on and has worked every time since. The quality seems to be very good and the ear pads are very comfortable. I'm pleased !!

These headphones were absolutely perfect for me. I have severe hearing loss and have difficulty with spoken words during movies and TV shows in which there is a lot of background noise. I could not be more satisfied. The transmitter was so easy to set up. I plugged in the power and connected it to the TV with the supplied optical cable. That was it! Sound quality is awesome although a little too much bass when music is played. However, the benefits of these headphones far outweigh this fact. I'd rather have a lot of base than a lot of treble. I can't attest for durability and longevity as I've used the headphones for only a month. At this time, they are perfect and the price was very affordable.
