1st off get a Xtool way btter support than laserpecker. it worked fine for what i needed it to do, sucks you cant use lightburn with it though. their software is very lacking, my laser went nuts after a update and when you would frame it would go crazy and just give you a line as if it was in roller mode. then after a few trys it would frame and start to burn then just stop in some random spot every time. I contact support and every time they ask 1 question wanting a video from it doing it, me using the software, to using the phone app, then it takes another 24hrs for them to respond then on weekends no support. My xtool when ever i have an issue they are on top of it and solved or part replaced right away, its been a week now and im still getting these 1 question emails at 5 am every morning with no response till the next day. i would not recommend this to anyone just cause of the support. oh dont waiste your money on the roller its garbage, tumblers slip on it even with rubber bands around them worse idea ever ... show more

LP3 is easy to use, lightweight and portable. Once you figure out your settings for the items your engraving it does an excellent job. The app has nice features and works well. I love the sleek design.

It’s a shame I can’t give zero stars. My machine worked for 5 months before shutting down. I have attempted to work with the manufacturer for over a month now to get a resolution to my problem. They refuse to refund my and allow me to send the machine back. Instead, they sent me YouTube videos and tell me I’m not using the machine right. They have terrible customer service and Amazon won’t help with the issue past 45 days after the purchase date. Now my business has closed and I will need to find a new resolution.     • Re-thinking 1st & 2nd review - here is my 3rd.
First machine quit after 30 minutes. Replacement machine lasted 6 hours then quit. I'll never do business with this company again. This was me out of the gate. Emotions too high? Probably. I am editing this review because I dedicated myself to getting to know the LaserPecker Software better. If you want detail and accuracy avoid the mobile app - very basic - not robust - but great for words and preloaded pics. Get the LaserPecker control software for your PC or Mac. The software has 4 engraving modes DITHER, BIN, SEAL, & CANVAS. After playing with all 4 modes I have decided the LP3 is actually doing exactly what it is supposed to do with very high accuracy. The LP control software has basic design software (not robust) so I use XDesign for my designs. Convert designs into PNG and drop into LP control software. This is where you need to pay close attention. Words engraved from a picture (PNG or JPEG) will engrave differently than the same words from text option. You have to learn how to manipulate the BIN, SEAL & CANVAS modes and the power and depth settings to get desired engraving "color". Depth is just mm/minute or mm/second. The deeper you want your etching the slower mm/second or minute the machine cycles. To get engraving depth it has to go slow and dwell. After learning ins and outs of the LP control software I have decide to up my review to 4 stars. Machine is not super fast but I am engraving steel and brass and knew it wasn't going to win races - I just want consistency and accuracy and after the learning curve issue it is giving me that. ... show more

    • Awesome machine… when it works
Machine is super simple to set up and the app is very user friendly, the issue is you have to stay on top of the firmware updates or it won’t work also usage is very inconsistent I can do a whole batch of dog tags (20) and it will work quick and efficiently but then I’ll try and do a different project and the red dot appears but won’t engrave any material at any strength. It has done this a few times so unfortunately I had to return it because it’s no reliable. When it works it’s great and easy to use but the biggest con is it decides when it wants to work and more often than not it will turn on but nothing else happens even after reset and following the instructions. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I like how compact this is. It doesn't take up much room and I can just pull it out as needed. This set just has the engraver and power supply, but you can purchase the other pieces needed to do cups. It arrived very well protected and had lots of padding both inside and outside the box. The instructions seem pretty straight forward and I'm looking forward to engraving some flasks. After reading some of the other reviews I think I will definitely install the software on my laptop first to get familiar with it, before I try to operate it from my phone.     • Doesn't do what it claims to do
It came with some plastic business card sized pieces of plastic. To get it to mark them correctly, I had to use 100% power, 100% depth and 2 passes. For black plastic, not metal. Using black coated metal, it took 100% power, 100%depth and 7 passes, but it did not fully mark it. The device also never reaches focus, per their 2 dot method. The dots never merge. They get close, then start to distort, then move away again. Maybe my unit is defective, but I am not at all happy. Sending it back after spending 6 hours trying to make it do something in 1 pass, as advertised. But no, it fails. ... show more
