  • It Works But…
I have a bunch of yogurt glasses that I would like to engrave so I purchased the - Laser Engraving Marking Paper, 2 PCS Laser Color Paper for Laser Engraver, 15.4" x 10.6" Black Laser Engraving Paper for Fiber Laser Engraver, Diode & CO2 Laser to Engrave on Metal, Glass, Ceramics – to get the job done. Prior to this paper, I would place a piece of black leather inside the jar which is very easy to do. With this paper, it felt more complicated. I attempted to use this paper to engrave 2 of those glass jars. The instructions say to soak the paper first then peel it from the backing to then apply it to the jar...then remove the air bubbles with a rubber scraper which is not supplied. This black paper tore the two times I had tried to apply it. Once when I was peeling it from its backing and the second time when I was smoothing it out on the jar with my fingers because I did not have a rubber scraper at my shop. I had some trouble with the engraving settings too; I didn’t realize the image needed to be flipped so my first attempt the engraving is backwards. The first jar that I had attempted to engrave, after the engraving, I had a difficult time removing the black paper. The second attempt, removing the paper wasn’t as difficult however, the engraving came out better the first time. I attached photos of both to this review. I am going to try using this paper again but as it stands now, I’m not sure the effort that it requires, and its cost, is worth it to me. We’ll see if that changes with attempt number 3. ... show more

  • Works But Tedious Process
This seems to be ideal for someone that has a diode laser that wants to mark certain materials that the diode struggles with. The process is somewhat tedious to soak the paper and carefully apply it to your surface and then dry it. It is similar to a laser marking powder. You have to tinker with the settings to get it right. I found the image is okay, but not the best. Compared to a marking powder that you paint on I found this was not as crisp or consistent in the result. Overall it is not as expensive as some other marking products so it is worth trying to see if it will give you the results you want. ... show more

  • Cool way to add more flare to your laser projects.
The paper does indeed work. The trick seems to be getting the backing off without tearing the sheet. Seems like more water / soaking is more successful. The suggested rubber scraper is almost a necessity as anything that has an edge on it more than 'dulled rubber' has a high chance of tearing. Thankfully I had a number of these I use in my resin vats (think window squeegies), which worked OK. As others have mentioned, it seems like a lot of work for a payoff that might not be worth it to some. That said, if you're looking for that edge in competing markets to distinguish your products, this might be it. As far as value goes, there's enough here to cover a pretty large number of projects, especially if you're able to apply them without loss of product (tearing) AND you're also frugal with your cuts. ... show more

  • Decent results but a bit cumbersome to use
I've been putting off using this engraving paper for some time. The concept is simple: soak in water, remove the backing paper and smooth onto the object. The smoothing part was the cumbersome part for me. It kept tearing and I had to do this process 3 times using a small squeegee. Maybe I was a bit impatient, maybe it was the squeegee. I gave up on squeegee and used my fingers instead which worked much better. Once that part was done, engraving worked as advertised. But I am still getting used to the power settings on my laser. So even though I have not produced a perfectly engraved product so far, it is not this paper's fault. Once I iron out the kinks, I will update with pictures. ... show more

  • Large sheets
I didn't expect such large sheets of this material. It seems to be too large and cumbersome, and I feel there are easier ways to accomplish engraving on glass.

  • Works on glass
Tried this on glass as a way to be able to engrave with my lower powered laser, and it worked even better than I expected. Still not the clarity of something like an acid etch, but surprisingly decent.

  • Works really well and so much easier than spraying paint on that has to be removed
So much cleaner! I used this paper on a test piece of acrylic I had from another project and it does work amazingly well. I have another grandchild on the way and my idea is to create an acrylic plaque with name, date of birth, time and weight and then have the parents either take a snapshot of the baby's feet or do the more traditional inked version of those little feet. That will be the backing of the acrylic sheet and I think it will be a really lovely piece to display. These sheets can be used in so many ways - I'm sure I'll be getting more of them! ... show more
