Got it on sale for $249.00 and found it really easy to assemble maybe took 30 minutes and that includes going thru the manual before i started. Fan is loud on it but it runs smooth does auto home with no problems and laser fires fine, also really like the linear bear on the X axis and the thumb screw z adjustment . Decided to go with lightburn so much easier to use of lasergbrl. Overall I am happy with it. **UPDATE** It engraves stainless steel really well and did not have to paint it or anything, Cleaned the metal with windex and worked great.

This is the third laser of this style I've had, and by far the best. it does an excellent job of routing the cables in e-chains, worked perfectly from the start... I can't say enough about it. and the price is hard to beat. I planned on running it along with another one to do projects, but it works so good I'm just using it.

Assembly is quite a project, so plan on spending some time with it. It helps to be mechanically inclined. The instructions are not outstanding, but they are plenty good enough to get the job done. The software is reasonably intuitive and is pretty easy to use. You can open an image file and the software will process it for the engraver. This machine should be used in a well ventilated area. If you are engraving a piece of wood there will be quite a bit of smoke. I still have a lot to learn about the engraver and the software. I like it and with some practice I think I will like it a lot more.

I think maybe my first laser spoiled me, because I am not that impressed with this. There is no enclosure, meaning you have to either purchase one separately or use this outdoors for safety due to the fumes. My studio is on the second floor, and while I do have a patio I have no power access out there. I had to wait until I could procure one to test this, and it arrived yesterday. I still have to set everything up outside to test the enclosure, so this review is before I have actually live tested. However, I do have a few observations that are relevant to my scoring of the product at this point. The whole thing had to be assembled. The instructions are clear in some areas but very vague in the other - for example mounting the diode is a guessing game. It slides up and down off the bracket, and there is no real indicator as to exactly where it should be mounted. This is hugely important to how the laser focuses - let alone heat levels involved and the potential for fires - so I have MAJOR concerns about this. For reference, on my other laser the diode case has pins on the back that you align to the mounting bracket and then screw it in at the top. Impossible to get wrong on that, but this laser?? Good luck. It truly frightens me. The other concern I have is the belt that moves the arm of the laser. It rests on the outer edge of the cutting area. (I can never remember which axis is which, but it isn't the one that moves the diode, it's the one that rests on the ground.) From experience, small pieces can fly as they are cut. There is nothing to prevent those chips and pieces from flying into the path of this belt and being picked up as it moves along the track - causing jams or slowdowns. The wires are messy, they include a few zipties but no real guidance on how to band the wires together. That is a cosmetic/visual observation though, I have no real safety concerns about that as they do seem to be clear of any moving parts on the laser assembly. Care should be taken in placing the laser though, so that they don't catch on anything. This is a bare-minimum laser. You do not get a protective baseplate nor any kind of honeycomb or other bed for the laser to set your materials on to protect your work surface - you have to purchase that separate. No air assist. No enclosure. No vent system. No shielding other than a pair of cheap safety glasses. Paperwork including safety procedures and assembly instructions were lacking in information. Like I said, maybe I am spoiled with my first laser (both lasers are pictured in my final photograph - this product is sitting on top of my first laser) This laser is selling for $550. My other does retail for a lot more (currently $999). However, considering how much you need to buy to be able to use THIS laser safely and efficiently, they will ultimately run a pretty similar equipment cost. The only thing I had to do with my other laser is pull some shipping pins and install the diode. You have to take these on and off frequently to clean them - so having an exact position for the diode is critical (and as stated above this product fails in that category) My first one also came fully enclosed, is safe to use indoors (has a vent hose and fan included to vent to the outdoors) and also included a honeycomb bed and air assist. A big old lesson in you get what you pay for.

The media could not be loaded. At first I thought this laser engraver was awesome. I have only gotten to use it a couple of time and the laser has gone out on me. I have tried and tried to get hold of the company for help and no luck. I am not happy at all. I only used the laser engraver for less than 20 hours and part of that was trying to figure out what was wrong with it. Customer service has been horrible through all of this. I finally got an email wanting video, sent that. Then finally got another email saying they needed pictures of certain things. It has been a nightmare. Save your money and get something else. Will update if anything gets better
