We could not be more pleased with this purchase. Yes, the components that connect the crystals are thin, but they are delicate and lightweight, making the strands of crystals easy to add on to the frame once it has been installed, with standard electrical wiring and mounting. One crystal was broken, but the company send us a replacement (it took two weeks for shipping from China, but they send 4 replacements, not just the one, of both shapes of crystal). The media could not be loaded. First, I bought this second hand from an online auction return order. This light had originally been bought through Amazon. The assembly instructions are non existent. It consists of maybe 3 drawings which are NOT accurate. The unit seemed to have originally arrived with groupings of crystal strands in order of assembly. I am assuming each strand would be pulled out and hung in it's correct place on the main light unit. This is based off the TWO BAGS (total of maybe 8 bags?) that had NOT been opened and the strands seemed well positioned for easy hanging. My GUESS IS, the unit was attempted to be assembled by a GUY, who became VERY irritated. Perhaps during shipping the strands tangled together (this is VERY bad and happens VERY frequently during any handling). he attempted to untangle, which resulted in the strands pulling apart, which made him MORE MAD and he started ripping everything apart. Maybe he managed to hang half of the strands but while assembling they tangled on his sweater and everything ripped apart. Which again sent him into a rage and he began attacking it. (again, the tangling IS an issue). In the end, everything ended up in PIECES of strands with no rhyme or reason when we got it. It took 6 HOURS to assemble because we had to TRY to calculate HOW LONG the longest strand was, and put allllll (maybe like 70) the strands together based on that. The longest strand is 49 beads, and each is reduced by 1. Again, the TWO BAGS the guy hadn't touched seemed FINE. But tangling IS A BIG ISSUE. The crystals are connected with cheap prongs, the type used in gumball machine necklaces. I have another higher end chandelier that uses special rings to connect them. This thing is HEAVY. My husband even struggled to carry it to our new house, it's about 60lbs for the 4ft long version. ALSO it doesn't say, but you need to TURN the light posts DOWN. Otherwise they stick out through the crystals. This is ACTUAL crystal, not plastic, so that was nice. ALSO< CRYSTAL IS NOT A MINERAL. It's GLASSSSSS. ALL CRYSTAL IS GLASS, FYI. Man made material. WEAR LATEX GLOVES FOR ASSEMBLY. You'll thankme after you see you have NO fingerprints to try to clean off. Other sites online will sell this for around $800 or more (maybe better quality). $400 isn't a bad deal. Thankfully ours was MUUUUUUCH less, but a BIGGER headache. Overall, it LOOKS STUNNING! Will go into our two story closet and look absolutely amazing when complete! Right now it hangs in our basement. ... show more
