  • Good product
Color: Dark Green Size: 46-inch Arc Canopy, 12 Ribs
It’s cost like 10 dollars. It’s very sturdy, big enough. I love it. Maybe it’s going to last for some years.

  • Compact, sturdy umbrella in a beautiful shade of green
Color: Green Size: 46-inch Arc Canopy, 12 Ribs
It's the middle of January in Colorado and I've had this umbrella for almost two months now without any opportunity to use it. For once, I can actually say I'm looking forward to those rainy, April soccer practices of my boys' when I'll need a good umbrella, because I think I finally have one! When holding this umbrella closed up, it feels heavy, which I was concerned about, thinking it would be fatiguing to hold up. That's not the case, though. When you press the button and pop it open, the weight distributes so evenly around the canopy, you can't even tell it weighs a little more. It's perfectly balanced, and that extra weight is what is going to hold this umbrella up against the wind, unlike the other lighter, cheap umbrellas I've used and had destroyed by wind in the past. I think I've used umbrellas at those soccer games more often for sun protection than I have for protection from the rain, so I really like that it's got the UPF 50+ UV protection layer on the inside of the canopy. It's a good size and should provide ample shade (and rain shield.) When you're ready to close it up, you just press the button again and the canopy collapses. It takes some decent force to shove the canopy back down toward the handle to be able to wrap it all up. That might not go so well if the umbrella is wet - I haven't tried it yet. I absolutely adore the mint green color paired with the black underside! Bonus that it has a wrist strap on the handle so you can keep ahold of it in case a gust of wind blows it out of your hand. ... show more

  • Nice automatic up and down/folding button, both for rain and sun
Color: Green Size: 46-inch Arc Canopy, 12 Ribs
I got this umbrella in the light pale green - as I wanted to also be able to use it for sun protection. My other umbrellas only provide rain protection. This pops up readily, and the fiberglass ribs are an interesting upgrade compared to just metal ribs - and they are doubled up which I don't know if that is a gimmick or makes it stronger. It is surprising a little heavier than some of my other umbrellas for the size. I think that is due to the double layer fabric - the black and the top surface and extra ribs. The size of the canopy is good for its portable size. I have never had an umbrella where you can press the button and the canopy also collapses down and it worked fine. I think that makes it great for getting in and out of a car. Pushing the canopy back down is actually a little hard - the spring is pretty stiff. It might get better over time. The canopy locked back down into place with no issues. The umbrella sheath is a little tight - you have to really fold it back pretty tightly to put it back on. The wrist strap is somewhat elastic which makes it easy to stretch over wrists of various sizes, but I hang my umbrellas on a rack, so having it hanging like that might stretch the elastic nature of the wrist strap. The one issue for me might be that there is no wind release/double fabric with a vent. Overall I really like this umbrella - from the large size to the fiberglass ribs to the sun protection and the auto folding feature. It currently is cheaper than other umbrellas on the market. There is no stated warranty if that matters to you. ... show more

  • Nice, but Heavy!
Color: Green Size: 46-inch Arc Canopy, 12 Ribs
The umbrella is very nice. The fabric is beautiful and the umbrella is large. It weighs 1 lb 3 oz compared to my Totes at 12 oz. It doesn't sound like much but it was enough for me to get out my scale to make the comparison. Depending on how windy it is, the extra weight may make it hard to hang on to it. Everything is a little bit stiff. You have to press the release button pretty hard to get it to open and it takes a fair amount of effort to close it. It was also difficult to get the umbrella tight enough to snap the strap. All in all, it appears well made, but may be hard to manage. You may be stronger than I am so that may not be a problem for you. I think it deserves 3.5 stars but I rounded up to 4 because I don't think everyone will have the same concerns I have. ... show more

  • Quality construction
Color: Navy Blue Size: 46-inch Arc Canopy, 12 Ribs
If you can handle a slightly heavier (18 ounces) and larger (13+ inches when folded) model than the standard portable umbrella, this can deliver a sturdy product with a 42-inch diameter. When choosing an umbrella, the first thing I do is count the number of ribs. Less than 10 means it's not likely to last long. This model has an impressive 12 ribs, and the outer component of each rib is doubled. Plus, the outer ribs are made from plastic not metal. That's a design improvement because metal ribs are much more prone to bending out of shape in a strong wind. For such a large diameter, I do wish it had more vertical height. It opens 24 inches. That's enough to cover one person but a bit tight if you're going to try to use it for two. Still, that's an adequate height and it is fully functional, even if it could use an extra inch or two. As you can see in the photos, there still is some metal; metal wires run for about half the length of the ribs, and all the ribs connect to the base with 7-inch-long metal struts. Fortunately, the struts are properly shaped and strong, they are also reinforced with metal buttresses that extend from a few inches from the center. All in all, the design looks excellent. Even the best designed umbrellas tend not to last long, particularly in windy areas, so I wouldn't spend more than this on one, but from what I've experienced so far, it seems to deliver value for the money. ... show more

  • Spacious and well-made!
Color: Dark Green Size: 46-inch Arc Canopy, 12 Ribs
I appreciate the size of this umbrella. It is able to accommodate two people relatively snuggly. The open mechanism is smooth and works well - it has fared pretty well in a variety of winter weather conditions, including rain, snow, and sleet. I have not tried to use it is excessively windy conditions, so I am unsure how it would fare though I am tempted to say that it would do pretty well. It takes some coaxing to get it back into the storage sleeve, but it is possible with a tight wrap and a little patience! The green, to add a cherry on top, goes well with a multitude of different outfits. ... show more
