    • Sturdy Dog House with a Cozy Porch, Just Needs Prep
I got this dog house to give my outdoorsy rescued pup a dedicated outdoor spot, and he’s been spending hours on the little porch already. I placed it on level pavers to keep it stable, and it feels very secure now. The elevated floor keeps him off damp grass, and the asphalt roof is protective in rain. The door opening size is perfect for him, and would work for a larger dog as well (he is about 55lbs). Assembly was a bit challenging by myself. The thicker wood panels are large, and the roof takes some patience to attach correctly. Having someone help would make it much easier. Once it’s together, though, the dog house is solid and sturdy. The wood is good quality, but I had to paint and seal it before using it outside. Ventilation could be better, as it can feel warm inside on sunny days. I plan to add a small vent to improve airflow, but my dog doesn’t seem to mind yet. Overall, it's a charming and practical dog house. The porch is a nice touch, and my dog clearly enjoys it. It's sturdy, functional, and a solid backyard addition for small to medium dogs. Once leveled and prepped, it's definitely worth it. The price point is in line with other doghouses that don't even have the little porch, so I feel it has an advantage over others at the same price point, making it a great value. ... show more

I’m so glad I decided to get this wooden dog house—it’s turned out to be such a fantastic addition to my backyard! The raised floor keeps him completely off the damp ground, while the weatherproof roof does an amazing job of keeping the interior dry—no soggy bedding or damp fur whatsoever. To top it all off, it’s super easy to maintain; a quick wipe-down with a damp cloth is all it takes to keep it clean and looking fresh, even after my dog tracks in a little dirt or mud from the yard. It’s so well-crafted, with absolutely no rough splinters or sharp edges that could scratch or hurt my pup—such a relief knowing he’s safe in there.
