    • Right size for two med/lrg dogs. Seams in floorboards are a little wide.

This particular dog house had the right door size and interior to suit my (well my dogs) needs but, I did make some modifications. I gave 4 stars because of the floor and hinges. Easy fixes. The seams in floorboards are a little wide so wind and spiders can get in pretty easy, I added 1/4 ply. It's easy to put together but the hinges and screws for the roof seem small and flimsy. I had a piano style hinge laying around, I used instead. The door and interior size are great for the two med/large dogs I have. I also love the flaps on the door to help keep out weather. Though, I did add some long heavy duty magnets to the bottoms so they would swing closed better. The threshold is metal so of course the magnets are attracted to that, works great. My sweet big doggies seem happy with it. ... show more

Took a bit to put together though overall it is a great product. We use it for our outdoor cat and it kept her warm through the winter weather.

The lid hinges are too small and the screws didn’t hold. Had to purchase insulation for the flooring. These are absolutely not for cold weather. Great for warmer weather locations. Also had to fix screws that were coming out of the factory installed parts.

    • Not a great concept
This was very difficult to build. Especially the roof. The little hinges that came with it for the roof were a joke. As soon as I opened the roof they ripped right out and the roof fell to the ground. I got a long hinge from the hardware store, but was disappointed to discover the only place to attach was a hollow metal rim. Would have needed bolts and nuts and just gave up. We put in the liner, but, knowing our dog, fastened it with very large washers and screws to the walls. No matter, she ripped it all out in short order. This not only left styrofoam all over her yard, but the velcro attachments that were holding the lining to the house ripped off the house leaving hundreds of bent staples sticking out of the walls to poke her. I get that she was causing the damage, but she’s a dog. I wish the house had been better thought out. When the padding came off the floor we were left with a floor that has 3/8 inch gaps between the boards (so every 2 inches or so) so now the cold just zips up her keister. Not happy. Really easy to put together. It’s very sturdy an nice looking. I did have a problem with the roof as you can see in two pictures. Followed all directions but when I lifted the roof up you can see that the screws came out of one part on both sides and bent the mechanism.
