Wow. I've had this lens for all of 5 minutes and I'm already impressed. I havent had a chance to shoot insects yet, which is what I purchased the lens for, but I did get a photo of my coworker's tattoo, and the macro function is so intense that you can see the texture of his skin which is normally invisible to the naked eye. I'm blown away. The value for the price I paid for this lens is amazing. It is amazingly high quality, heavy and feels durable. I may update the review with macro shots once I have them. UPDATE: Took the lens out and around my apartments to get an idea of performance. Again, I'm blown away. Adding some more photos. ... show more

    • Fun lens for macro photography
Review Image by Lindsay Hambright Lindsay Hambright
This is a fun lens I’ve added to my kit for extreme up close macro photography. Took a little bit of time to get used to, as it is a fully manual lens with no autofocus. I have both the Canon EOS R and R5 camera bodies, and got better, sharper results with the R5 probably due to in body stabilization. You will need either a flash or other light source like a lumecube, for any shot, especially at higher magnifications, as this lens requires a ton of light. A light diffuser also helps. Lastly, you will need to change the settings on your camera to allow the shutter to release without a lens attached. This lens doesn’t connect to the camera body, so any info on aperture is not captured in Lightroom. Check out peterviragphoto on YouTube who gives more tips on using this lens on a Canon R mirror less format cameras. ... show more

    • Does not lock onto rebel canon body or canon metabones
This is the second time I’ve tried this lens on a canon mount and it does not click into pin lock!!! So the moment you adjust magnification it pops off the body. Be careful !! The canon macro fits and clicks into place perfectly . This is garbage for canon mount 🤦🏿♂️

    • Its a nice lens but…
The media could not be loaded. First, the build quality is great but the sharpness is not that good I tried to build a precise moving mount but the point of focus is very narrow even with the f22 In my opinion, the lens is a nice choice but with a lower price
