These switches are good...not quite beautiful, not high tech, not super robust but they are inexpensive and they work well. Packaged together in a bag that appears to have originally held 5 or 6 switches and without any sort of instructions, labeling on the product, or technical specification. Common sense guided me to install these on two 120V lamps in my home and they worked as expected. The case came apart easily by removing two screws, I did not find the screws to be too small, I had plenty of space for the neutral and ground to run past, the ends closed easily around my 14/3 wire without squashing it and the case screws went right back in without cracking the plastic case. Everything worked right the first time. I'm giving 5 stars because they perform exactly as I had anticipated when I ordered them...no more, no less. ... show more

I purchased several of these switchs to install into the power cords of some devices to help save some money on the power bill (many to keep the Mrs. Happy with a lower bill). I've used similar switchs before that were a much older build. When I'm not using a device like a laptop, CPAP machine, or item that still uses energy even when off. It's easier (and better for the cords and outlet)to switch something on or off then to plug and unplug something over and over Anyway about the switch. This may look like older style switches but a look inside and you'll see a rocker switch and 2 terminal plates. The plates are some type could be brass or a plated aluminum, they aren't steel. Either way the switches are good enough for home, and they are maintainable if needed. These should last a good long time. The shell seems fairly robust also. I'd add some solder to the terminals of the rocker switch to eliminate any possibility of a poor contact if these were to be used in a more harsh area. I'm giving these a 4 star because of the somewhat high cost on Amazon and the lack of solder on the terminals. But both issues could be remedied with time and picker price shopping. Otherwise I have no problems with these and believe they will work well. ... show more

I made a lamp out of a water bottle and salad bowl. I put Christmas lights inside the water bottle. The lamp itself worked by its switch but I could not easily connect the Christmas lights to the lamps switch so I needed a separate switch. So it’s me being a little lazy. Adding the switch was very easy and I was able to do it rather quickly. I will be using this switch again on my next project. And I do use this lamp everyday so I have put some use to it. I bought these because they appear to be robust and they incorporate an actual switch rather than just a contrived one. That is all true, but I did have a "glitch." The switch contacts are attached to the terminals for the lamp cord without solder on the connection points. Don't know why they did that, but the first one I hooked up would not turn "on." I disconnected it and used a bit of solder on the internal connections. That fixed it. I love these switches, but be sure to solder the internal connections or your experience may be less happy! ... show more

As others have noted and the pictures clearly show, there is nothing connecting the rocker switch tabs and the "bronze wire contacts". Why bother with screws for the live wire when those wires might as well just be pressed against/near the switch tabs? Other switches online have those contacts soldered to the tabs and even have strain relief (for the same price). Or buy your own rockers and feed some ABS into your 3d printer (models do exist). As delivered, these are not fit for 1500W. ... show more
