  • Excellent post ground spike anchors with hardware making it as good or better than posts in concrete
The excellent quality of these fence post anchor ground spikes is incredible. The heavy gauge sturdy steel will stand up to the elements for not just years, but decades! The dimensions are perfect size for the standard 4x4 posts from the local lumber yard or one of the big box home improvement stores. I had a left over piece of 4x4 that I cut to put in the box and used a sledge hammer to knock it into the ground which was easy to do even in my rocky Ozark mountains ground - I think the long spike design just pushed all the rocks out of the way. The other associated hardware all functioned to make this as secure a post as possible, maybe even more secure than digging a hole and setting the post in concrete. Certainly it will be easier to move or replace the post in the event that becomes necessary. ... show more

  • Not for rocky or hard ground
Licensed contractor review: these are getting returned . I purchased a four pack to use for customers mailboxes and one for myself . so granted the ground is snow covered right now but not completely Frozen. sinking these down through the top 10 in was not a problem, it's the last 4-6 that proved impossible. As soon as they hit any type of rocks in there they deflect or simply can't break through. The welds are not strong and you can see the auger fins snapped right off one. I have used the other Style where the entire post base is one giant screw and have not had nearly as much trouble with that style. They come provided with a length of rebar which provides far more torque to screw them in than these bolts do... I will stick to that design in the future. ... show more

  • Great ground anchors
I recently got this anchor kit and have been quite pleased with it. It performs as promised, and I found the parts fit well and worked great for my needs. It allows me to use common 4x4 posts for almost anything. The build quality is noticeably high, and I appreciated how easy it was to assemble and install. Once anchored into the ground properly, the posts don't bend. At most, they will just pull out of the ground under too much stress. I didn’t need any special tools for installation, just a nice cordless drill, making the process straightforward. In terms of versatility, it can definitely be used for a birdhouse or even a flagpole, with cable guides to prevent tipping over. These are great if you have multiple projects in mind. Additionally, the quality looks good, and I can see that it is rust resistant, so it should hold up well over time. Overall, I think it offers good value for the money and has been a solid addition to my project list. ... show more

  • WOW! VERY HEAVY AND HEAVY DUTY!
HIGH QUALITY and heavy duty steel post bases. Each base is the best post base I have ever seen anywhere. I have one I purchased at a local home improvement store for my mail box and it has worked for years but it is not nearly as heavy or heavy duty as these bases are. These are very good, strong, well engineered, and they will not be easily bent. they will be a little more difficult to install because they are so heavy duty and there are actually 4 "tie down" pins with a screw type end to assist in securing them in the ground. Well worth the cost even though I received these for a review. With four of these steel bases in the box it was so heavy I couldn't hardly get it into the house after delivery. I can't say enough about the high quality of this item. MUCH BETTER THAN I EXPECTED FOR SURE! 5 STARS FROM THIS REVIEWER. ... show more

  • Nice variation on a ground screw for extra hold
This offers extra security in a fence post screw/grounding bracket. Not only does it go into the ground like most, the 4 screw in parts hold it more securely if you're in an area with loose soil, or soil that gets frequently waterlogged. If you live somewhere like me, with hard soul, you may need to use a breaker bar or pole to drive into the ground initially. If using to support a heavier structure or one that will take strain like a sail shade, i recommend using cement in addition to be safe. ... show more
