  • Gorgeous sounding strings
Size: 750N
I ordered these strings for my Fender Jazz bass and I'm glad I did. I had on the "Rotosound RS77M Jazz Bass Monel Flatwound" strings for about a year and a half and they were starting to sound not as flatwounds should. So I decided I wanted to switch to La Bellas based off all the overwhelmingly positive reviews I've read. First set of LaBellas I got were for my Hofner bass and I was beyond pleased with the La Bella tone and feel. So I decided to pick up a set of Black Nylons for my Jazz bass because they essentially sound like and feel like flatwounds. Plus I always thought black looks super cool. These strings play like gold. I thought my La Bella flatwounds for my Hofner were as smooth as butter, but these feel EVEN smoother. The tone these Black Nylons produce are so beautiful and warm sounding. Gives it a nice fat bass tone I was looking for. It's rad, the threading on the top of the strings are Purple, very cool looking. I've had these strings on for about a week and the more I play and break them in, the better sounding they are getting. It's amazing how that works. It's VERY safe to say I will NOT be experimenting with any other strings for my Jazz bass. I found what I'm looking for. La Bella really outdid themselves with these strings. One thing to note for those who are considering switching to Nylons but are on the fence about it: These strings feel unlike anything you've probably ever played before. If you've played with Flatwounds before, that would be the closest to understanding how smooth and rich the tone of these string are. Even then, these play much smoother than any Flatwounds I've ever played. These stings are NOT meant to sound bright, or to slap and pop with. You wanna get plain ol' roundwounds for that. However, if you're looking for a deep, rich bass sound that will cut thru the mix without being overpowering, these are most definitely for you. I can't say enough good things about these strings. I'm glad I bought them and as I said, I am sticking with La Bella for life. ... show more

  • Smoooth bass strings!
Size: 760N
I had some Ernie Ball flats on my fretless and switched to these La Bella nylons. They are suuuuuper smooth. They are almost exactly like the Rotosound Tru Bass nylon strings in feel! So far, I'm happy with the sound and feel! I will say, if you are someone who wants nylon strings with more texture, I'd recommend looking at Fender's nylon bass strings! ... show more

  • Easy to play
Size: 750N
Great tone, easy on the fingers. I put them on an acoustic bass. Best strings ever.

  • If you like flats, you’ll love these
Size: 760N
I recently tried out these strings in place of some flats on my Jazz bass. I loved them so much that I put them on a 5-string Ibanez (pictured). These are a great middle ground, tone-wise, between flats and rounds. Smooth bottom end, but brighter than flats. I have really appreciated the flexibility these bring to my playing too. I wish I had tried some on an upright. ... show more

  • Best bass strings I've ever played! Absolutely LOVE these strings.
Size: 750N
I prefer nylon bass strings and these are the very best I've ever found, no other brand even come's close. Exceptional quality, smooth sound and feel. Booms out of my amplifiers. I seriously need a dozen sets of these for my instruments to replace brand new big name brand and preplayed other strings. If you are a nylon player, these are must haves. Give one pair a try and you'll be as hooked as I am. LOVE these Bella's!!!! Highly, highly recommend! ... show more

  • THE BEST FOR THIS TYPE OF SOUND
Size: 750N
I regularly record electric bass guitar on original music in our Florida based recording studio. Most of the time I like Rotosound bass strings on my three Fender basses but every now and then a song calls for a darker less brilliant sound. These La Bella strings sound really good, they have enough high frequency to make clear notes and massive bottom end tone. They are really easy on your fingers too. I only took off a star because of the limited sound these have, you're not going to get clarity from these. That dark tone is not my favorite and I don't love it, I use it because some songs call for it. Then again they're not intended for bright sound, If you need quality tape wound bass strings these are the ones to try. Good music to all! ... show more

  • Super Smooth and Punchy
Size: 760N-CB
These strings feel great, they are low tension and low friction! They have the brightest and punchy-est tone I've ever heard from flatwound strings, yet they still retain that smooth warmth that nylon and flatwound strings are known for. These strings are ideal for acoustic and fretless basses. Their warm bold tone meshes perfectly with the sound of an acoustic. The only downside is that they are really sensitive, so they pick up the slightest sound and as a result can be harder to play with out extra noise. If you play rhythm or use a lot of percussion, you can use these extra sounds to your advantage. I would highly recommend these strings! ... show more
