  • Very good
There are lots of night vision goggles around the $250 mark, most of them apparently generic and rebadged for Kymzixx, Hudakwa, Dsoon, etc. There's very little to tell them apart, but the one big thing to differentiate them is that some use 8 AA batteries, some use 6 and a very few use an internal rechargeable battery. Now personally I'd always opt for the rechargeable because I don't like using disposable batteries, and when I'm out in the countryside where I'd use a device like this I almost always have access to multiple power banks and, failing that, a 12V charging socket in my car. If you're off the beaten track, though, it might be more practical to carry AA batteries with you, and since these goggles will give you 7 hours of use (with IR turned on) from 6 AAs that makes them the most attractive option. I've tested a few sets that offer the same battery life from 8 AAs, so I guess this is a better option. The goggles themselves operate just as well as the other half dozen sets I've tested. The IR+ and - buttons on the top allow you to dial in the settings you need without wasting too much battery. I usually find that on a moonlit night I really only need the first power level. The screen is bright and sharp, and the focus ring on the bottom of the device is easy to use. You can't really go wrong with any of these kinda generic goggles, so I'd happily recommend this set. ... show more

  • Let's you see in the dark.
IR emitter works well. Night vision works well. Video works okay. I wish the focus ring was located where your thumb rests. Nailing focus is difficult with this device because the screen is not the highest resolution. It's difficult to tell if you're focus is sharp. If you get focus right the result is pretty good. If you don't get the focus right the resulting shots are not that great. Image stabilization would be helpful, especially zoomed in on a subject, if you're handheld, the resulting video can be very jerky. Other than that, it comes in a nice case. It's well built. The 8AA batteries give a ling battery life. ... show more

  • Great
Really nice binoculars all around, they seem well made and pretty sturdy. The weight isn't too bad and while still kind of big, they are smaller than others I've seen and/or tried. The viewing distance is really good and the display is fairly nice as well. They aren't perfect, as I don't know how well they'd hold up to abuse or a harsh environment, just due to how they feel. Then while having a good display it's not great either but for the price it's not bad. Really to get anything better one would have to really step up in the money department. So for the money I think they deliver pretty much what they should. Honestly as long as one keeps their expectations within reason, they'll be really happy with these. Just realize these (at time of review) are under $300, for night vision alone that's not a lot of money, then add in some of the other things these can do such as recording and it's a really low price. In all I'm impressed and would recommend. ... show more

  • Died on 2nd use.
- Made in China - 8 AA batteries (not incl) - Case is nylon, firm, zippered, rubber handle sleeve, strap - No lens covers for either end - Incls micro-SD card, can format onboard - Has tripod receptacle - Zoom works but is quite slow, if it matters to you I used it on the front porch a couple of weeks ago but due to holidays, wasn't able to do more than make notes so tonite I sat down to write the review. Unfortunately, when I turned it on, it first started yelling at me to "plug out card". I did and tried reseating it, got same error msg. Tried all sorts of things, using 2 other cards, power down, wait, then finally used its cord to hook it up to my computer. It acknowledged the connection, my computer said driver was installed, then it fried. See my pic. I haven't been able to do a thing since. I can't even turn them off. I was able to make one pic with these before it croaked. You can see it's not all that great, certainly nowhere near the quality shown in the listing pix. Still, it was decent enough. It's extremely heavy with 8 batteries. Having no lens covers bothers me. The use buttons are actually well-placed, firm silicone, and the menu itself is very inclusive. I'm afraid it's a 1 star for me. A pretty big bummer but nothing else I can think of to try, especially if I can't even turn them off. Due to a recent Vine software change, I'm trying a new thing. Returning for replacement. I don't know if it'll work or not, usually they have no more Vine units to replace with, but if I do get a new one to try, I'll update this with any new info. • Night vision
Not bad quality for the price. My husband, and avid hunter, was happy to try these out. He likes them but they're not as sharp as he's used to. Granted, his other night vision goggles go for a lot more money. So for the price yeah, these are pretty cool. And not too heavy.
