  • Cheap, works, great service. Can't really ask for more.
I bought this a little under a year ago. It worked as expected and was a very good price for a KVM switch. It also is surprisingly heavy and feels solid as the case is metal. Unfortunately the other day I went to switch the input and got a shock because it's dry (winter where I am) and immediately my monitor lost connection. I couldn't get any signal from either of the attached PCs (usb worked) so assumed it was dead. Looking at the page it says there's a "lifetime warranty" but looking at some reviews and questions they give a more reasonable warranty term of one year. Finally, something broke just under the warranty term for once! So I set about trying to contact them. I had quite some trouble actually contacting the seller through amazon. Since it's outside of the amazon 30-day window you can't request a replacement. I talked to customer service via chat since it wasn't clear how to contact the seller and they basically told me to pound sand; When pushed for an email (they must at least have that for someone selling on amazon right?) they gave me the contact info for an auto-paint company called STEK-USA - which was clearly just the first hit google on - to try and get rid of me. Awful. I eventually found the right way through the amazon customer service options to just send a message directly to the seller. I sent them a message saying mine had died and I wanted a replacment but honestly didn't think much would come of it, so I decided to just order a replacment since it's not too expensive and I could just drop it into my setup. Well, not only did they get back to me, but they noticed I had already ordered a replacment. They offered to simply refund my recent order no questions asked! No messing with a return label, no waiting for it to ship both ways, nothing. I was honestly shocked (no pun intended). But it gets even better: before issuing a refund they advised me to try resetting the device by unplugging it entirely, waiting a few minutes, plugging in only the monitor (to reset the EDID info which that static shock probably corrupted), then connecting everything else... and it worked! Imagine not only getting offered a hassle-free "return" with effectivly 2-day cross shipping, but getting useful advice on how to fix your problem immediately. Five Stars. P.S. I'm not sure why the ratings thing has a "camera quality" (it's not a camera..) or a "picture quality" (hdmi is digital, if it's working then the "quality" is perfect). ... show more

  • Works well
It took me awhile to get it to see both computers. I reached out to the seller and they were very responsive and helpful. It is slow chainging computers but it works well when connected. My old VGA KVM would not accept a USB camera, so I had to choose what computer to plug it in. This unit accepts the camera without any problem. ... show more

  • works with my simple setup
UPDATE @ June 6: My LG 32 in. monitor crapped out and I replaced it with a 34 in ultrawide, 2560 x 1080 monitor, and.... with the help of Amazon tech support, discovered that this KVM switch will not work consistently for my configuration. When I connect directly to laptops with the same HDMI cable I have 2560 x1080 resolution. Going through the KVM switch, 2 of 10 times I might get 2560 x 1080, but I can always get 1920 x 1080 and that won't work for me. Not sure if the issue is because the ultrawide monitor is not 4K or if the lack of power to the KVM is the problem. I had to switch back to my powered, SeaWit 4 port KVM, and now I can consistently get 2560 x 1080 resolution. I'm posting the update in case someone else has a similar configuration. No change in the rating because my use case appears to not be supported with the switch. ----------- Initial rating is 4-stars since I've only used it for a couple of days without issue (so far...). I have a simple setup for my home office: a 32 inch LG monitor, Lenovo TP480 laptop and a Surface Book2 Performance Model. Both laptops are connected via docks that include ethernet, HDMI, USB-C and USB (2 and 3) ports. Each dock connects to the respective laptop via a single USB-C cable that also provides power. The primary plus for me is the 4 USB2.0 ports on the front of the KVM switch. I use one port for a Logitech Unifying Receiver (for a K800 wireless keyboard & MX Anywhere 2 mouse), second port for a Logitech C910 HD camera, third port for my DuKabel ProSeries USB to 3.5mm Jack Audio Adapter and fourth port for my Samson G Track Pro Mic. All worked as soon as I plugged in the devices. Switching between the laptops takes 1-2 seconds and the screen, mouse and keyboard are active immediately. The small footprint and the absence of a power cord are also a + in my book. ... show more

  • If you're spending this amount for a KVM, you kinda know what you're getting into
TL;DR: It works! Does exactly what it says it's going to do. Dirt cheap. Know the image quality is not great so not recommended for people who don't do visual work or care about perfect gaming situations. If you're like me, you realize you're going to be working at your house for awhile due to the pandemic. If you're also like me, you want to keep your work computer and your home computer seperate but still use the same keyboard, mouse, and more on both machines. Enter: the KVM switch. Does it work? Absolutely. If you're not looking for fancy setups on your monitor and just need to do basic tasks, maybe play a simple game once in awhile, it's perfect. I have a keyboard, mouse, webcam, and microphone attached to the KVM and both appear on each machine and work flawlessly. As for lag with keyboard and mouse, it's happened once so (knock on wood) it doesn't become an issue in the future. The biggest drawback: image quality. It isn't great. I have one giant monitor and the color balance is completely out of whack when I use the KVM. It took a lot of fiddling to get it where it's tolerable. Here's the thing, I'm using my work computer to do spreadsheets and email. I'm using my home computer to go on the web, watch some YouTube videos, and play an occassional game that does not require anything special. I don't really care. I just want to be able to switch between the two and keep the stuff hooked up to them. And let's be real, if you really cared about getting a perfect precise KVM, you wouldn't be looking at this. You see the price. You know what you're getting into. I knew what I was getting into. If you need something that just works and don't care about it be absolutely perfect, this is your box. ... show more
