EDIT: After being contacted by the company, I decided to give this device one more try at being set up. I was finally and ultimately able to get it working and it worked as advertised. I was able to establish a local WiFi hotspot and connect at least two devices to it (a laptop and iPhone). The speeds were very slow (as expected for any device of this type), but sufficient for browsing, email, and most any other work you’d be doing on the go. The instructions for set up are very poor, incomplete, and difficult to follow. But if you persevere, and with a little bit of luck, you can get this device set up. And when you do, it’s a handy little thing to have for internet access when no WiFi signal is available. PREVIOUS REVIEW: I'll start by saying that I hardly ever give one-star reviews. In fact, this might be my first. I always try to give the manufacturer the benefit of the doubt, but this device tested my patience and goodwill to the limits. Also, before I share my experiences with this product, I'll also share that I am VERY comfortable with technology. I am not an IT professional. But, I have successfully set up networked PCs for high-performance gaming platforms in my home. My home is also fully networked with smart devices and multiple WiFi meshes that I set up. And, I use tech regularly as part of my profession. I am not intimidated by technical set ups and have the patience to try multiple strategies when dealing with networked tech. None of that mattered here. First, the instructions that come with this device are barely readable. The English is so poor that the intended meaning of each step is compromised. Second, even when the meaning of the instructions is discernible, the steps outlined do not match the actual steps of setting up the device (as an example, the instructions prompt you to click "CONFIRM" at one step but no confirm button is ever displayed). Third, the 2GB free data is never offered nor applied when setting up the device. And, finally, fourth, I paid for an additional 2GB of data - just to give a successful set up my best try - and while my PayPal account was charged for that data ($8), it was never applied to my account nor to the device. To summarize, I was never able to get this device to connect to the internet despite 90 minutes of patient and competent effort. I cannot and do not recommend this device in any way. If it ever has a hope of working, I'm convinced advanced technical knowledge is needed. For the user with average (or above average) technical knowledge, stay away from this product. It's nothing but frustration and lost time.
