Was very easy and simple to put together. I did it alone (well with help from my 2 year old) in less then 2 hrs. Bed is for my 2 boys (5 & 2) the bed is so squeaky, I can hear them roll over from several rooms over. And also the poles pretty flimsy and seems like they might bow after time.

We got this bed for our guest bedroom. It wasn't difficult to put together, just took some time. It's very sturdy. We really like how the trundle hooks into the daybed part so they are one solid bed. The only downside is that it is squeaky. It's not that big of a deal, but it would be nice if every time we sat on the daybed or laid on the full bed, it didn't squeak. From the pictures and the specs, it seemed like a good deal. But when we got it, it started to become questionable. The instructions are terrible, the first pictures and descriptions of which screws go where didn't match. It took me about half an hour to figure out I had enough of a different screw and which parts went where. Now that we've had it for a few weeks, it wasn't worth it to get. The metal used for the slats are weak. It just bends if you accidentally put all your weight on a single one, like sitting on the bed. It can handle 500 lbs if you lay down across all the slats, but significantly less if on one or two. The main frame has a bad design as there are not slats on the very ends, so the bed just collapses if you lean near the ends. The trundle really can't handle a lot of weight. Just today I found the metal bar that has the wheels mounted on is completely deformed. So I had to remove the wheels on the off chance something snaps. I really wish I could like like this day bed, but there is a lot wanting on it. It really is good for a child of maybe 50 to 60 lbs. It seems like it could handle their weight safely, but with caution. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone over 100 lbs, that would be the realistic weight that could safety be used. ... show more

I'm very happy with this purchase. It was easy to assemble even though two pieces were dented in shipping. We were able to unbend them with some simple tools. A 6 inch foam mattress just barely fits in the trundle space below. An 8 inch would for sure be too tall. The 6 inch foam mattresses are perfectly comfortable however. I bought medium quality (medium-low price) ones from Amazon and am very happy. I don't think it would weather kids jumping on it very long, it's not that sturdy, but I expect to use it for low key house guests for years to come. ... show more

After cursing my way through the assembly because of the horrible instructions, I found that it all fit together nicely and it's actually a nice sturdy bed. You just have to be smart enough to figure it out. Ignore the labels about which screw goes where, just use the shortest screw that will get the job done for each step.
