All you need to do is just twist the bottom part to the temperature you want, and it’s really easy to handle . I don't use a straightener often, but I like to keep one around just in case I need it for a bad hair day or a guest. My hair is fairly thick, so it generally takes a long time to straighten (especially since I like to keep the heat on the lower side to protect my hair). This is one of the better ones I've used, but it still catches my hair in the cracks between the floating plates and the main part of the unit. It also doesn't glide as smoothly as the best one I've had. However, it's loads better than those cheap $20 ones. I like the really long cord (9 feet!) and the fact that it's dual voltage, so I could take it to Europe with me if needed. It also comes with a felted cloth bag that has 2 clips to help section out your hair as you straighten.

Just not in love with how this straightener feels when using it in my hair. It's like a scrape rather than a smooth glide. Might be ok with someone with better hair than I. I did like the accessories that it came with. I wish all straighteners came with clips like this.
