    • Reading light good, top light is color only
For the price, this is a decent light, but there are some really weird things with it that prevent it from getting a better star rating. If you don't care about them, then maybe it will work for you. I wish I could make the top light a better white light and not just color and I wish the two lights were able to be controlled more independently. **Reading Light** The reading light works fine, it has a few different white temperature settings from warm to bright and uses different LEDs to activate these. **Upwards Light** This light is _only_ color. Which is weird because I have other RGB lights that are able to produce decent whites, but this one is distinctly blue. This was frankly dissappointing because while I like having colors occassionally, generally I'd prefer the upwards light to have a more red tone, which is very hard to get. **Firmware** This is where things get really weird. The entire light is one device, not two. You can join it to your wifi using the tuya app and cloud control with Home Assistant works well. But in order to let you control the lights independently, you send "light temperature" commands to change the reading light and "color" commands to change the upwards light. I'm guessing there was some cost savings reason for this but it's weird as you can't use the app the turn off the lights independently. (Although you can do this on the lamp or remote.) **Local Control** It's Tuya so local control is kind of possible but difficult to set up. I've got it mostly working, with most of the issues stemming from the above weirdness. ... show more

    • A perfect lamp for living room
This is the second lamp I got from this brand. I got the first one for my bedroom and I am very satisfied with that one. I got this one for my living room, because I need one to use when I am studying. This lower lamp is so bright and I can adjust the height so easily. Exactly what I need for study. I like the remote control, which is something I already knew from my previous purchase. What exceeds my expectation is the app and the compatibility with Alexa. So I don't even need the remote control but voice control! And because of the different colors of the upper lamp, I can set different mode according to the situation and all of them are controlled by voice! This product, ingeniously packaged, was assembled in about 15 minutes. Basically, the main pole section of the light is made up of smaller pieces which screw together, with the main wire running through the entire length. All you need to do is lay everything on the floor, unfolded and screw the pieces of tube together. The remote takes two AAA batteries, not included. While the light will work without it, I suggest installing the batteries upfront to explore features of the lamp. Once assembled, the main illumination comes from the bright light on the arm. It can be adjusted to many variations, as well as the disc light on top. Both give off fairly brilliant light and the lamp is entertaining to use. Is it capable of being a main light? Is it more geared towards a game room or acting as an auxiliary lamp? I would say that this particular lamp can be used in a living room, but is more oriented towards being an auxiliary lamp in a living room, bedroom or game room. It can give off fairly bright light, nearly equivalent to a decent floor lamp but it's mostly according to personal taste. Its appearance relates it as a novelty-type lamp. Next to consider is durability, for which I cannot rate this. It has only been one week in operation but these lamps use specialized lights that, in all likelihood, cannot be replaced. I would say that it's good for the $$, but enjoy it while it lasts. I also am not a big fan of the wire in the tube, as it was constantly getting crimped or twisted as I screwed the pieces together. *One minor note is that, at higher lamp intensities, this lamp causes slight interference with the reception on my clock radio, which is plugged into the same power strip.     • Deceptive marketing.
At least you get a reading light you can adjust the intensity with. Like the other honest (1-star) reviews, the remote is useless. To set it up, long press the on/off button to 'acquire' the code for the lamp. After that, it's useless. Scanning the QR code seems sketchy; like you're gonna offer all your phone's info to some weird country. The led lights just strobe, at least you can adjust the frequency of it by using the buttons on the lamp itself. I wanted a reading light and a different colored light I could use from across the room with a remote. I just have something that sits in the corner of the bedroom used as an impromptu clothes hanger. ... show more
