Description

The Kryptonite Kryptolok Mini-7 U-Lock features a 12.7 mm hardened performance steel shackle with a double deadbolt anti-rotation design that resists bolt cutters and twisting leverage attacks. The lock’s disc-style cylinder with center keyway is protected by a vinyl coating and is pick and drill resistant. The keyway also features a sliding dust cover to protect the cylinder from dirt and debris when not in use. It includes two stainless steel keys with an ergonomic design to reduce torque and keep them from bending or breaking. Rated at a 6 / 10 on our security scale, the Kryptolok Mini-7 is good for quick stops in a metropolitan area, a couple hours in the suburbs, or all day & overnight in rural areas. It also includes our patented FlexFrame-U Bracket providing convenient multi-location U-Lock transport. This lock is also bundled with a KryptoFlex 410 (4' 10mm) double looped braided steel cable for securing front wheel or accessoires. Using Mini-7 on TREK DualSport Hybrid bike. Lock is very sturdy, key mechanism works smoothly. Mounting: This TREK hybrid does not allow for this lock to be mounted in the 'triangle' area as the bike's top bar is not horizontal, it is angled downward to meet seat post tube at fairly low point. I sourced some M5 hex head metric screws from local hardware store along with short bungee cords and improvised as seen in the photos - not the most elegant looking solution but it works to hold the lock to the frame while riding. One add'l note: this mini won't lock both the bike's frame and rear wheel to a post, etc. - the "U" is not wide enough to capture both frame and wheel due to bikes design. ... show more

Love this lock, this is the second one. First thing to do after purchasing this lock, please register the key, so if you ever lose it they will replace it for free or for a small fee. That's why I am on lock number 2, did not register key. I had lock for 6yrs. and it worked just fine.

I just bound 2nd one of this exact model "KryptoLok Mini-7 U-Lock with 4" Flex" for my kids. The lock comes with 2 keys. I have never thought about to register in Key Safe program till kids lost 1st key. I try to register the key with model # & key #, but kept receiving "KEY NUMBER DOES NOT MATCH LOCK MODEL SELECTED". I have tried all KryptoLok Mini-7 U-Lock models and none of them works. Can you identify model by the Key number? Help, please, ... show more

I bought this lock for my daily commuter ride, which is an 80s Fuji S12. My ride isn't super costly, but I have tricked it out and want to keep it as safe as possible on my daily commute. I leave my bike locked up on a campus area that is well traveled and thus far the lock has done its job! I will say the mount that comes with it is a little cheap, but it works. Used a couple of these to secure 3 bikes during a 7 day bike trip in Colorado. They were easy to use, easy to secure to racks, and came with an insurance policy for a small extra fee for your bike if the bike was stolen (note: this policy does not apply if the cable is used to secure the bike, only the U-lock) Would buy this again. ... show more
