    • Very heavy! Not a cheap easily cut lock.

This lock is the heaviest bike lock I have ever owned. I wouldn't carry it with me on my bike, but rather leave it at the boat, so I can ride to the marina and lock it up there. As heavy as it is, I would still like it better if it were another 8-12 inches longer, as it won't fit around any stationary objects except the main feed to an electrical breaker panel that is not in a convenient location. I may need to purchase a bike rack and have it permanently installed if I can get permission from the marina owner. This should work well on many municipal bikes racks, but may be too short to loop though the bike frame on the standard wheel stands. Most likely however , I will simply buy a length of chain to go around one of several 10" trees in the parking area, but that defeats the security of this heavy cut resistant lock. As it is, I have only used this lock 3 times in 3 months due to it being difficult to lock one handed, and too short for most posts, poles, and small trees available in my area. The key must be held open when locking this, which is extremely difficult to do with one hand. Having lost the use of one arm, I would discourage others having a similar disability from purchasing this product. However the quality of the construction would lead me to explore other options from this manufacturer. ... show more

The build quality is superb, reminiscent of a fortified tank, providing impressive protection to whatever it is latched onto. My confidence in this product was so high that I purchased a second one for my other bike. Such is the assurance that Kryptonite Evolution 1090 offers, making it an essential purchase for those concerned about the security of their bikes. However, it's important to note a couple of drawbacks. One being the weight of the lock. It is significantly heavy, which is not surprising considering the high level of security it provides, but can be inconvenient during rides. When wrapped around the middle of my bike, it certainly adds an extra burden that some might find off-putting. The second drawback is the time it takes to lock up due to the required multiple wraps around the bike. This can be a minor annoyance for those in a hurry or those who lock and unlock their bikes frequently throughout the day. Despite these downsides, the Kryptonite Evolution 1090 is a solid investment if your primary concern is bike security. It's an insurance against theft that brings peace of mind, especially for high-value e-bikes. Just be prepared for the additional weight and a bit of extra time spent securing your bike. Solid piece of equipment. I use it for locking my Talaria R. Clearly well made and hefty. I only use it for securing my bike at home, not sure I'd love carrying it around with me, but you could with a backpack. The Kryptonite bike lock is heavy-duty and works exceptionally well with my e-bike. The rubber around the lock and cloth around the chains protect my bike from scratches. Plus, the inclusion of three keys, one with an LED light, is a cool bonus!

This review is specific to ordering the product from Amazon Global Store UK. There are a lot of disclaimers when ordering from an Amazon Global Store about product possibly differing in numerous ways from locally purchased product, but I decided to to give it a try since the pricing was notably lower at the time than other sellers. The product is in fact exactly what I expected, being the European labeled version of the Evolution 1090 lock. It arrived in less than 6 days (most likely due to being shipped to major coastal city in So Cal). Not sure if it's eligible for manufacture anti-theft offers, but for my application this lock is a bit overkill so I expect I'll never have to deal with a loss. Lock looks well built and should deter or at least slow down even a well equipped thief. Hope this helps another buyer out there... ... show more

I don't think you can buy a better bike lock. This thing is a beast, as advertised. It is very heavy so I can't keep it on my ebike for casual use. I have another lighter lock for that. But when traveling or if I were in a high crime area, this would be my only choice.
