    • When a straight drill hole is required
I often have projects that are too large to use a drill press but require a straight hole. On some projects you can get away with a slight angle. This guide has the typical drill bit size I use and is easy to use. Plus it helps me line up the position of the hole. It’s not something I use all the time but when I need the hole to be straight this works. I have several Kreg Jig products and in my opinion they are well made and work. I’ve only used the Kreg Portable Drilling Guide once so far, but it performed exactly as expected. The six hardened drill guides make it easy to drill accurate, straight holes, and it’s simple to set up. It seems like a solid addition to my tool collection for any carpentry or home improvement projects.     • Made Mounting My Bench Vise Much Easier
I bought this specifically because I needed to drill straight mounting holes for a bench vise on my workbench top, and it worked exactly as intended. Keeping the holes square by hand would have been a pain, especially through a thicker bench surface. The guide feels solid, the drill bushings stay aligned well, and it was very easy to position and use. It gave me much cleaner and more accurate results than trying to freehand the holes with a regular drill. Works excellent, drill size is spot on. I needed to drill straight holes through a boat transom, something you measure ten times and cut once. This tool made it much less stressful to get it spot on!
