Surprisingly fast shipping & perfect product
Style: microKORG XL+
I was skeptical seeing this for 36% off of the usual price on other sites... but figured I'd give it a chance since I could always get my money back through amazon. My skepticism was unnecessary! It arrived only a few days after I ordered it, from Japan to the US btw. It is a Japanese model but you can easily find English users manuals on the KORG site. The box was only wrapped with bubblewrap & "please handle with care stickers", but UPS must've heeded that sticker well because it arrived in absolutely perfect condition. I can see how that could backfire on a buyer, but in my case it worked flawlessly so I have absolutely nothing to complain about. Love the keyboard & I'm so glad I didn't spend $600+ to get the same thing from another store.

Love It-Great for Beginners!
Style: microKORG XL+
This is a great synth for old players and new alike. The presets are great and you can create some great sounds right away while you learn the mechanics of creating your own. Highly recommend for beginners or those (like me) rekindling their interest in synthesizers.

I bought a lot of different equipment. This I use a lot. Love it and always loved korg. Sounds great. Just as advertised. It's there in the bottom of the pic.

Not recommended
Style: microKORG XL+
I didn't like this product at all. First, it is poorly made of cheap plastic. It has a terrible feel to it. The sounds are not that good and authentic. On top, you need headphones as it doesn't have speakers, and they charged me a $43.07 restocking fee that was never mentioned anywhere. Beware, dishonest company.

Pound for pound the best little synth out there!
Style: microKORG XL+
Install the editor on your computer and you can tweak the sounds all day long. Its in my live setup now and has all the sounds I need. Upgrade to a better mike and the vocorder really comes alive.

A great addition to other sources for vocals and additional leads
Style: microKORG XL+
I am really enjoying using this to play vocals for my music. The device has preset vocoder options with some ability to make adjustments, but I have also started using some other modules as it has its limitations. There are some really nice instruments here as well though. I like that it does not take up a lot of space and keep it on a small shelf. So I feel like it was worth the cost.

XL is Xtra Lame
Style: microKORG XL+
I really want to like this thing, as it sounds good and has an easy-to-understand voice architecture. But the warnings were true, the build quality is so bad it's kind of insulting. It does not even sit flush on a flat surface for one. All the knobs feel cheap and wobbly. The backlight is so dim you have to squint. There are too few immediately accessible parameters and the amount of menu diving needed to do anything is, just bad, trust me. There are hundreds of parameters and lots of parameters with hundreds of values, now imagine trying to precisely edit all that with a little knob. I would rather not need a computer to tweak sounds. I would also rather have fewer parameters to tweak but all easily accessible like the original MicroKorg. If you only care about presets then this won't apply to you but I have to wonder what the point of having on-board editing was at all when clearly this is geared towards the type who just wants to load a preset and go. I will give the keys a B-. They must have improved them since the original XL since they are not bad and I found them easy to play. But I think I want a MicroKorg since from my experience they are better built and easier to program. Just only 4 voices... first world problems I tell ya.
