  • Good Book
This is a good book - I like it - the one structure that I want to build is missing a total description - but the Ideas are great and the pictures are great - I like it a lot

  • Another winner from Taunton's
As I've mentioned in previous reviews of Taunton's, this is an excellent publication. It covers the various details of building an outdoor structure, such as preparation, design, the actual steps and much more.

  • For me, not enough ideas to spark creativity.
I bought this book mainly to get ideas about building outdoor items. I have a lot of the Black and Decker home improvement books, and I really like those. Then I read about how well put together the Taunton Books were. So I took a chance and bought this book used. Unlike the B&D books, this book didn't have the variety of projects and ideas I was looking for. The main focus of this book seems to be "ranch" type projects. Not really "fancy" looking projects or unique projects like I was looking for. The information provided to make the projects is well written and full of good advice. However, in my opinion, if you're looking for an outdoor building book or any type of "home how-to" books, my experience is the Black & Decker books have a LOT more ideas for you, with just enough information on how to actually do them. To me, this book didn't have as many ideas as I was looking for. ... show more

  • I bought it to build a DIY gazebo, but found lots of other good ideas
Amply illustrated, colorful, and encouraging. I bought it used and it is well worth the money (I bought 3 other gazebo related books at the same time).
