I installed a Kohler seat on this toilet over 20 yrs ago and it finally started a small crack. So I bought this one. It wasa more upgraded version than the old one. Wish the directions had been a bit clearer but I figured it out pretty fast. The old one, like this one, had metal bolts. The old one was a PAIN to remove...one bolt was frozen and took a long soak of WD40 and lots of strength to get to budge. The new one went on pretty easily and seems sturdy. This one has the quiet slow thing that stops the seat from slamming down. be sure to measure your toilet and to judge if you have round or elongated. For some dumb reason, ROUND toilets are actually oval, but are called round. Hope this one lasts as long as the other one. ... show more

Seat is great. We needed a new one to replace an old broken one on a round Kohler toilet and it fit well with usual excellent Kohler quality. We’d ordered a “used like new” seat before this one and although it seemed to be unused there was an obvious defect in the plastic with a chunk just large enough to be very noticeable missing right in the front of the seat. Amazon was great about the return process and we got a new replacement in perfect condition quickly, for nearly the same price as the price on brand new seats had dropped in the week between orders. ... show more

In our new house the builder used the heavy wood toilet seats with the epoxy coating. The coating fades and the seats are heavy. These toilet seats are light but very strong. So it took me about 15 mins to install, it would have been shorter but the directions were hard to read and it was my first time ever installing a toilet seat.
