I just received this toilet seat and installed it. I have mostly good things to say, I will have one negative comment… The seat is solid and seems well built. Installation was easy. It arrived in perfect condition. It feels nice and solid and has a nice weight to it. It is a simple handsome design. The soft slow closing mechanism works well. I have only one negative comment, and that is that this listing indicated that this is an easy to clean model, specifically that it had the quick easy release hinges, like my prior seat had, so that you should be able to unsnap the seat from the toilet to clean around the bottom with the toilet seat completely removed. The box that this arrived in indicated all of its features and does not mention that feature, even though this listing does say that that feature is present. Now that I have installed the toilet seat, it is clear that that feature is not included in this model. Instead of it being that easy, one would need to spend a solid five minutes with a screwdriver removing the seat if one wanted to, and instead the seat will just not be as easy to clean, as it is not reasonable to remove the screws each time the toilet is cleaned. The toilet seat is otherwise a five-star product, but I am deducting one star for the lack of this feature which was listed as being included in this product listing. Okay, so you're thinking a toilet seat, is just a toilet seat? Well, after being bothered about certain things with our current toilet seat, I suddenly have some boxes I want checked off when buying this one. In my opinion this toilet seat hit all my boxes and I would highly recommend it! 1. Installation - very easy.... says the wife watching her husband installing it quickly, with no swearing. 2. No annoying swivel when you sit down. Toilet seat stays put. Yay! 3. You can actually sit on the toilet seat cover. This is not the thin plastic kind that pops down when you go to sit on the lid and I'm not a skinny minny. 180 pounds and hubby over 200 pounds. It's nice and solid. It looks and cleans nicely like the newer plastic kind, but has the weight and thickness of an old fashioned thick and strong lid. Perfect! 4. Soft close - No annoying sound when you or the kids drop the lid. It is a very, very.... very slow close, like wait for it.... wait a little bit more....., but who cares, it's quiet! If you need to sit on it and wanted to close it quicker by pushing it down faster with your hand, it seems that it would work, but I wouldn't suggest that as it will probably eventually damage the soft close feature. We've only had it a few days so I can't speak of it's longevity, but so far I think it's as awesome as a toilet seat could be! Highly recommend! Happy shopping :) ... show more

After a little over a year at an apartment building with a terrible plastic thin toilet seat. A friend who tried to be sneaky by standing on it and smoking by the exhaust fan broke the camel's back. After ordering this I was reminded exactly what a quality toilet seat is supposed to feel like. It weighs like 10 times as much and throwing the old one in the dumpster was like throwing a couple of frisbees. It's also nice seeing the Kohler logo. I have friends that come over often and every time they use the bathroom I always heard the lid get slammed down when they'd flush but with this slow close lid that doesn't happen any more. I was worried that I'd get the wrong size but this fits and matches the color of my toilet perfectly to the point that it looks like it came with it. ... show more

The gray plastic nuts in the first pic is what comes with the seat but it is junk. It expands as it is tightened and won’t go far enough up the thread of the screw to firmly hold the seat in place. I had to buy wing nuts at Home Depot. The second pic is the packaging that shows the size that fits the screws that came with the seat. (Buy two) The seat is very nice though. I recommend it if you also purchase the wing nuts. ... show more

As the owner of an elongated bowl toilet, this seat is as good as they get if you want a no-frills seat to take a dump. No bidet, no out-of-this-world acoutrements. It does have cushioned hinges, so it doesn't slam down on the toilet which is nice. The only questionable thing is the plastic mounting hardware it comes with. It's thick, though, so it should not be an issue, I just have a problem with plastic. ... show more

This is a great toilet seat. My last one was an American Standard and it did not hold up to the test of time. Very cheap quality. I wondered why and then I noticed that American Standard is now produced in China. I guess most everything is manufactured there and thus the quality has lessened. How many times per day does someone open this lid? We both work from home so I’m going to guess over a dozen times a day. For something that gets used so much, you really want quality. The easy close barely takes a tap to send it on its way. Standard sizing means it’s a perfect fit for our American Standard toilet. Install was done by my 16-year old in less than 15 minutes to include removing the old one and cleaning under before installing the new one. The seat is solid. Solid lid- nothing flimsy. Solid seat- no wobble. Solid install - no shifting. At less than $40 we only wish we’d replaced the other seat sooner. ... show more
