  • Such a cool light...
Full disclosure - I bought this thing mostly b/c it looks cool. That being said, it's as bright as I need it to be and is made pretty well. I have to agree with other reviews that the mount is a tad sketchy (lite duty plastic oppose to heavy), and you have to make sure the tightening screw it actually inserted properly or it'll just spin (as if its stripped). Note: I may have gotten a slightly defective one b/c it doesn't always turn off/on with 1st attempt. Sometimes I have to try a few times. It's not so bad to make me trash the device/company but I would like that maybe fixed or perhaps a replacement. Seriously dope light otherwise. ... show more

  • KNOG "PWR Mountain 2000l"
Style: Mountain (2000l)
I beign looking for nice, bright, waterproof, versatility on the light spread, modulate the power and well mounted for my Enduro Bike and I love the KNOG PWR Mountain 2000l, forget the other one this one right now its a bang for the buck, duration on the battery I tested was 3Hrs at full power 2000 Lumens, if you go for Mid Power is around 10Hrs with 500 Lumens, It's just perfect I use it for home too as a portable Light. The Clamp to hold the light is very sturdy and came with 2 rubber rings to match the size of my handlebar that is for standard 31.8mm or big Carnon Enduro Handlebar 35mm like mine!!! Make yourself a favor and don't waste more money on other bike lights this one is great, I saw the review of the other versions but these the PWR Mountain 2000l its the best. I would buy the 1000l to test and see the diferences. ... show more

  • A significant design flaw!
I really want to love this light, but it has a major flaw I saw mentioned in other reviews yet decided to ignore. The light, itself, is very nice - bright, good battery life and well designed. Although, ignore everything about the app b/c that is nonexistent which is not a big issue for me since the light, on its own, is nice. The real problem - and a very significant one - is the mount. When I first got the light, I thought it was fine, but after using it for a few weeks, I’ve found it to be a very, very poor design. Keep in mind, this light is meant for “trails”. I have a commuter bike and only ride on paved trails and roads. I live in the Washington DC area where the trails are fairly well maintained, but the light mount is not nearly sturdy enough for bumpy (honestly - “normal” urban) trails, roads and paths. Quite frankly, it can’t hold up to even modest bumpiness which is a huge disappointment considering how nice the light is. I just don’t understand why the company did zero testing on this. I mean, they had to have done no testing because of how bad the mount is. It looks nice but simply does not function. I am going to, reluctantly, keep the light and try to figure out a way to make it work It’s pricy, so I feel obligated to try, but I will likely not purchase anything else from Knog because of this experience. Sorry, just very disappointed! ... show more

  • A light that is as bright as advertised and also serves as pack. Great customer support.
I love the Knog light. I got the 1000 lumen trail and haven’t seen a better light. I find the Lumens to be accurate (unlike many lights on here) and compare it to the cat eye lights except it’s more inventive and useful. The light actually produces 1000 lumen on high. It is also programmable. And you can use it to charge your watch or phone, which is awesome if you go on long adventures. All around it is like a Swiss Army knife: it does a lot of things really well. Flashlight? Check. Bike light? Check. Power pack? Check! Also, I had in issue with one of the lights dimming and Knog sent out a replacement fairly quickly. Love the support! I have two of these and use them on medium for 4 hours of lighting and combined 1000 lumen. One will get you 1000 lumen for 2 hours. Tested and works as advertised. My only doubt is the mount for the bike. I feel like it’s innovative but not quite there yet. Overall though, you won’t regret having one. ... show more

  • Beautifully designed, but unsuited for hardcore bicycle riding.
Some of you will remember my Knog blinder 400 broke. I really loved the simplicity of this light, so small and with a great flash pattern for daylight use, but it died way too fast for evening / night use. so having loved one KNOG, I figured lets go overboard and pick up a 1000 lumen PWR trail with a huge 5000mah power brick to last through long nights. so yesterday first ride with the new PWR Trail, On the upside, the light is beautiful, super easy to operate, Several observations, First the mid power setting which if maybe half of the 1000lumen, lasted probably south of 2 hours not the advertised 3 hours. so if you need 3-4 hour night riding, this is not your light. Second, the supplied mounting bracket simply dont fit on my trike, and the one rubber fit-sleve also don't fit, nothing that can't be fixed with gaff-tape. but for a $120 light to only fit on two dimensions. thats kinda lame. Thirdly the bracket is wimpy. fiddle to install and flex too much for such a heavy light. its very hard to install with cold wet hands, naturally some of you don't ride in conditions like that.. but if you are looking at the PWR trail,, chances are you do. Lastly. the advertised setup-app to pick your preferred light strobe pattern.. well that app is not available. One more, the power status lights is on the side of the light, I found myself leaning to the right to see how much power may be back, this would have been perfect on top or on the back of the light.. (at least for my use) PS in all fairness the KNOG IS bright on full setting. but so many things is just not right, like when the battery got close to the end, the light simply turned off. instead of dimming to a lower output, I was left on a dirt trail in pitch black.. avoiding crashing, I turned the light back on at minimum output and finished the ride 20 minutes later knowing I will never ride with just the PWR trail at night. At this time my fall-back solution is the INTEY 1600lumens, it also can't not run in max, but its 1/3 power out plays the KNOG by a fair margin and its only $65 on Amazon and have a adjustable mount that fits virtually any round tube. http://amzn.to/2iRQzmA ... show more
