Is there any reason to have every size knipex mini bolt cutters? I feel fairly confident in saying that unless you are truly a degenerate tool addict/hoarder like myself, you won’t be missing out by skipping the smaller sizes and going straight for the 10” cutters. i’ve used them regularly to cut decent sizes nails, untold amounts of aircraft wire and just about anything else I can fit their jaws around and the blades look they’ve barely been used. while they can be pricey, I truly believe that the added utility and pure unadulterated joy they bring makes up for it in spades. get some! ... show more

I am so relieved to have these back in my tool closet. I left a pair of these on the nack of my truck and accidentally donated them to random humanity and I was so pissed. These are one of my favorite tools. They might seem pricey but you will find so many occasions where they are just the right tool. I use mine for slipping shoe sole nails, chicken wire, electric fence wire and countless other things. While I was waiting for these to arrive I ended up using my full size bolt cutters for cutting some electric fence wire and really missing this small set. ... show more

What do you do when you inadvertently hook yourself with a barbed fishing hook ? All the traditional solutions hurt like hell, and regular sidecutters just won’t cut through most quality hooks these days. These knows cutters easily cut through every hook I’ve needed to …… thankfully so far my use has been confined to cutting off the factory installed treble hooks on lures as my state requires single hooks. If you need a disposable tool, you have many choices. You are buying this because it will continue to perform when others fail. I would rather have a tool that performs every time I need it, than fail when I really need it. It amazed me to see what these things will cut, and the edge remains fresh. For those that don't know, you can make a tool edge that is too hard, and it will be brittle, too soft it won't break but it won't cut. Having the best materials and the correct temper (heat treatment process) makes for durable tools. Knipex has nailed this with their cutters.
