  • Wonderful product for an aging parent
This product has been an immense help to me and my almost 100 year old parent. It is so sturdy, was very easy to put together, is very comfortable, easy to adjust, is well designed and my parent feels safer from falls and more independent. My back is grateful as well because I am not doing so much heavy lifting. ... show more

  • Exactly what I need
After perusing available toilet safety frames to check size, adjustability and customer reviews, I chose this frame because I wanted to have a sturdy frame that was attached to the toilet and wouldn’t need to be replaced periodically. I liked that the product description gave precise measurements for all parts of the frame, which other products didn’t show as clearly. I laid all the parts out to be sure everything was included, got familiar with how the fastenings work, and had very little trouble assembling the frame and attaching it to the toilet. It is important to measure the space where the frame will fit, side to side, front to back, noting where the TP roll is. It’s also very important to look at the reference photos in the description so the parts that are attached to the toilet sides will actually rest on your toilet where they’re supposed to. There are measurements shown to help decide if this frame will work for you. PROS. I didn’t need any tools or much strength. The main components are the sides that fasten to the front rail, and they are heavier than I expected. There is some adjustability for the width, the height of the armrests, and placement of the armrests towards the front or back. The assembly instructions are mostly pictures, which I appreciate so much more than words. It was easy to put together and check the measurements to keep everything centered. I am an older woman, not as strong or handy as I used to be and still had few problems. Once the frame is properly placed with the soft cups closed against the toilet sides, this is a very sturdy frame. It was easy for me to get used to where the front feet of the frame sit on the floor in relation to the bottom of the toilet. Because the frame is attached to the toilet, the feet didn’t slide around on my vinyl flooring as I put the frame in place. CONS. The main components are heavy, so it might be helpful to have an assistant. Lining up the holes to set the height and width is a little fiddly. Not bad, but could be easier. There are only two setting for the width, so this isn’t as adjustable as some might prefer. I’m slightly larger than the average sized woman, and the narrower width works just fine for me. The height of the armrests is more adjustable but still fiddly as the holes need to be lined up, and you have to be sure the height is the same on both sides. While the armrests themselves can be positioned in one of two settings: either more forward or more to the back, it would be better if there were more settings here, perhaps including being able to move the armrests out of the way via a sort of hinge at the back. The armrests aren’t cushioned, not a problem for me, but might be for others. ... show more

  • Quality and sturdy no hassle product
Easy to assemble. I have an elongated toilet whose bowl is 16" high. I am 6' 2" tall. The arms are at the highest setting, but they are plenty high for me (some commenter said her husband needed to drill extra holes on the posts). If you can afford it just buy it. No brainer. In my opinion it looks better than other models. Very stable. I saw in some pictures a strap on the back. A strap was not included in my shipment but a strap is not needed. The whole rack attaches securely to the toilet. The handles are comfortable and sturdy. (They rattle a bit but only because they have two positions you can choose.) Easy to simply unscrew two black knobs to clean the toilet. Yes, it looks "orthopedic" as all these devices do, however once my knee heals, I am going to leave it on the toilet for ease of rising and comfort. Why don't all toilets come with arm rests!:)? ... show more

  • Very sturdy support!
These safety rails are extremely sturdy! My husband is disabled. He uses a walker which won't fit through our bathroom door. He parks the walker at the door then "furniture walks" his way to the toilet. I knew he would use the rails as a handrail while approaching the toilet so I needed something sturdy enough to support his weight while approaching from the side. This works perfectly. It was easy to assemble and adjusts to fit your needs. I would highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Fantastic
This has been a life saver for my 87 yr old mother. We paired it with a four inch booster seat for the toilet. It works great. I am really surprised by how sturdy it is. It’s solid made with decent gauge metal. After a year and a half it looks brand new. It’s still just as sturdy as it was the day it was installed. It actually attaches to the toilet itself which makes it more sturdy. No holes in your wall or floor. The arm rest slides forward slightly with a lever underneath. It was very easy to install. I believe everything needed came with it. I might have needed a screwdriver. Took me maybe 15 minutes. Bottom line, it’s great. My brother has health problems. After using the one at my mothers he wanted one. So we purchased another one. I would recommend it to anyone who has difficulty getting up from a seated position. ... show more
