  • Pretty exceptional controller by every standard.
Color: Red
The media could not be loaded. TL;DR This controller is pretty incredible and if you're in need of a controller for the Switch, Xbox, or PC, this should be your go to. Just watch the video - you'll hear how it feels to use it, and it feels good to use. I would recommend this controller over the official Nintendo switch controller, which I love. I was recommended this controller from a review from Archades games on Youtube. The review raved about the controller - the writer claimed it was not only the best cost-conscious controllers for the Switch, it one of his favorite controllers of all time. Following that very high praise, I decided to fill my need for a controller with this one. It didn't disappoint. Although pretty unassuming in form factor, the care put into the design of each piece is what makes it such a good controller. It just works so well, and feels so good to use. If playing video games for many years has taught me one thing, it's that it's hard to get a controller "right". This controller is done right. A lot of my liking of this controller is personal preference, but I'll try to be as precise as possible in my descriptions, and I'll include a video that will pretty much tell you how they "feel" via sound. THUMBSTICKS: The thumbsticks have nice, balanced resistance to them, and have a very subtle indentation and ridge on them - made of good rubber as to not rip or crack as the PS4 and Xbox 360 sticks have an issue of doing with repeated play. D-PAD: The D-Pad is pretty incredible. I've used it the most so far while playing retro games, and it is perfect in my opinion. It reminds me of using a SNES or N64 D-Pad, with a precise, tactile press and without too much resistance or "mush" in the press. This should be the D-Pad that comes with every modern controller until the end of time. I prefer the Genesis D-Pad, but this is the one that works best in this smaller form factor. SHOULDER BUTTONS: The same can be said for the shoulder buttons have a feel more like face buttons than the hinged clicky shoulders of the Xbox One controller (which I do not like at all, because of how bad it feels when you don't press it in the "right" place. Shoulder buttons should feel the same no matter where you press them), the mushy PS3 shoulder buttons, or the well made but clicky Z button on the GameCube controller. FACE BUTTONS AND TRIGGERS: The buttons and triggers remind of the Nintendo Switch Pro controller, which is to say they feel great. If you like those, you'll like these. They're not pressure sensitive or analog, but I don't like those features anyways (analog triggers are pretty much worse in every game that isn't a racing game). "FEEL" : It feels good. It's not too big or clunky, it's meant to be held. I used it when playing Unholy Wars, a top down fighting game (highly recommended), and it buttons always felt available and never out of place. OTHER THINGS OF NOTE: This controller has pretty exceptional battery life. I haven't had the chance to use it all up yet, but according to review mentioned above, it lasts about 20 hours on a full charge. I've mainly used it on my PC to play games, and connecting it to the PC is exceptionally easy. Just plug it in with the included USB Type C cable, and you're good to go, as the controller uses the X-Input standard. The Type C cable is a nice choice, as it can be swapped out with your phone controller, is much sturdier than the Micro-USB input of old, and can be stored away easily if you're planning on using the wireless function with an Android phone or a Nintendo Switch on the go. I have a really nice 10 foot cord I use to charge my phone that I use to play PC games on my bed with. This controller also has motion control support and has a turbo feature. I haven't had a chance to use the motion controls yet, but I'll update this review when I get a chance to use them at a friend's house. The only downside with this controller over the Xbox One and Playstation 4 controller is that it doesn't have a headphone jack. Honestly though, I don't care. This controller cost me 30 dollars and is easily the best controller I've ever bought. A lot of controller design is personal preference. With that being the case, I would still recommend this controller over everything else being offered on the market. It pretty close to perfect in every way, and works well with every device that it supports. That's pretty much all there is to it. ... show more

  • Drift at start
Color: Red
Works great except whenever it first connects to my laptop it has drift. After a bit it just naturally corrects itself.

  • Not pairable with a PC
Color: Black
I bought it because it states "KMD Official Licensed Wireless Pro Controller for Nintendo Switch, PC, MacOS and More". It is a wireless controller, but not with a pc. The instructions say synchronization with PC, plug it in with the cable for x-input. That means for a pc it is wired. I did try pairing it, different button combos like paring with the switch, etc. Surfed the web for an hour looking for a solution based on the product description and nothing. No blue tooth with the PC. It is a little thinner than the Nintendo pro, so feels a little small in my hands. The Nintendo is more comfortable. But it is not bad. Seems well made. It did sync with the switch easily and quickly. ... show more

  • Legit Alternative to the Pro Controller
Color: Black
Well I'm completely blown away by the quality of this controller. My experience with 3rd party Nintendo controllers is that they're usually just junk. Not this one though. It says it's "Official Licensed Wireless Pro Controller." I will note it doesn't say "Officially Licensed by Nintendo" and it doesn't have Nintendo's official seal on its box, so they're being a bit tricky there with the description, as it leads one to think it's been officially licensed by Nintendo - but it's not. They're talking about the Bluetooth licensed portion (this is mentioned in their photos for the product). Regardless though, this thing does pretty much everything my official Nintendo Pro controller does, and it does it pretty much exactly the same. The only difference I've found so far is that the controller is slightly lighter in weight than the Nintendo Pro and the A B X Y buttons are slightly smaller, but I only noticed that because I stuck the two controller side by side. While I was using the KMD I didn't even notice. I played a few games with the controller, Streets of Rage 4, Mario 64, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2, Cadence of Hyrule, and a few random SNES games. It handled all of the games well. Very responsive and I noticed 0 lag time for any of the inputs. The rumble mechanism works just as good as the Pro controller, which is fantastic. The battery appears to maintain itself really well as I've not had to charge it yet. It says it's 600 mAh, whereas the official Nintendo Switch Pro Controller is 1340 mAh, so I would expect the KMD to last about half as long. You'll probably notice it more if you're using it for heavy rumble sessions. The material on the handles is slightly different than the Pro controller as well. The KMD's material feels like your normal controller plastic, while the Pro controller used a bit of a softer feeling plastic, but I didn't find any difference holding it in my hands. The KMD didn't feel less comfortable or more difficult to hold. But I'm not a controller snob, so take my opinion as you will. The joysticks felt great for every game I played with them, and the d-pad felt wonderful, especially on Cadence of Hyrule and the older SNES games. There are a few games that just give you more accuracy using the d-pad and I'm glad this d-pad doesn't have any sharp edges to make your thumb hurt after awhile. It's quite comfortable and responsive. The KMD also comes with a USB-C charging cable that looks clearly less durable than the Pro's USB-C, but a USB-C cable is a USB-C cable. It does its job. I didn't use any of the Bluetooth connectivity that this controller has, but it's good to know I'd have that option in the future if I wanted to. I didn't use the turbo feature either, as I don't own a lot of games that would require turbo. It also says it's designed and engineered in the USA, which is a plus in my book. However, it doesn't say it's assembled in the USA, which would have been the cherry on top. At half the price of a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, you could easily pick this up, save yourself some money, and get the same controller gaming experience as the Pro. Easily a 5-star product. ... show more
