I'm glad the "KLYMIT STATIC V Sleeping Pad, Lightweight, Outdoor Sleep Comfort, Best Camping Gear for Backpacking..." is still available - even though the replacement is being sold. Pros: Lightweight; can roll into a small pouch; less expensive than most Klymit pads. Cons: Summer use only (50 degrees or above); larger than the advertised "soda can;" the side rail concept doesn't seem to really be functioning as intended; doesn't roll into its pouch on the first try, or second, and maybe the third. I used this pad on late summer and early fall nights and still felt the cold ground in the early mornings at 52 degrees; below that the ground temps were really evident. I would call the storage size closer to Dinty Moore Stew than a soda can. The valve isn't as nice as the newer Klymit products but it still is perfectly fine. ... show more

I wasn't looking for a backpacking pad, but this collapses to be extremely small. It'll fit in some pockets even. The only concern I have is that the various channels and ducts the air flows in can get almost trapped with air, so rolling up the pad takes maybe 2x as long as a standard flat pad. After first inflation I was having buyers remorse. I just did not believe their hype. However!!! I did use under a sleeping bag (on a floor not on ground, have backs with sleeping bag alone). Slept great! Since I find most mattresses lacking I am very pleased with product. Since I am planning a lot more camping (retired) I am relieved that I do not have to stress about sleeping!! ... show more

This mat has been a life saver. I purchased this for camping but when my dog had to be restricted from stair use I camped on it for a week straight to stay downstairs with him. I found this mat to be surprisingly comfortable. You do have to lay on your back for your weight to be distributed enough to keep you elevated off the ground. So this wouldn't be a good choice for side sleepers. My only negative, it does not take the 15 breaths or whatever is advertised to inflate. Yes you can blow it up and the twist valve is nice, but it took longer than advertised to inflate. That being said it is still a very nice product and durable. I had a cat with claws and a large dog trample this mat and it still works great! Buy One! ... show more

i am ok with mine, but my hubs hates his. they inflate fine and i put mine inside my sleeping bag which helps. i am sure if our sleeping bags were newer and had the inserts that keep pads in place, he might feel different
